I normally try to go with wired things to reduce the RADIATION that I am exposed to. However, after the last 2 trips where I got super STRESSED WITH PEOPLE PLAYING THEIR GADGETS ON THE PLANE without MUTING them or using EARPHONES, I told my family that for Mother’s Day, I would love to get the AirPods Pro 2nd Generation because I heard from a friend that it really has excellent NOISE CANCELLING TECHNOLOGY. And if you are already using an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac, the technology seamlessly integrates.
Since we travel a lot and I hate crowds + I am sensitive to noise, which both trigger my bipolar, I decided that AirPods Pro 2 is worth the investment for my MENTAL HEALTH.
WAS IT WORTH IT?
Hell yeah! When I was surrounded by hundreds of people in the EasyJet bag drop-off line, I was in my own silent oasis with Active Noise Cancellation, so I didn’t get agitated or antsy.
When I was on the plane and the noise from the engine + being in an enclosed space with hundreds of people, I was able to tune everything out.
When I needed to communicate with my family Adaptive Transparency Mode lets outside sounds in while reducing loud environmental noise.
PROTECTING MY INVESTMENT
Before leaving for our next trip, I made sure to buy some accessories that would prevent losing or breaking the AirPods. It’s just hanging on our ears so if it falls in the airport and somebody steps on it or it falls as you are walking around then you can say goodbye to 200+ euros or dollars.
AIRPODS PRO 2ND GEN ANTI-LOST CHAINS

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING:
- Whatever brand you choose below, the magnet wont be as strong as you think. The important thing is that when one or both Airpod Pros fall off, there is something to hold them up.
- Placing your AirPods in an anti-loss chain/holder disables the controls on the AirPods so I use my phone to control them. This is a sacrifice I make so that my AirPods don’t get lost/damaged.
- Please read the reviews & description carefully to make sure it’s what you are looking for. Even the expensive brand has complaints of chains breaking.
- Silicone gets brittle if you store it in air-tight containers, especially in high humidity.
- Prices may change without notice
- The chains are for those times that you are wearing the AirPods and want to prevent loss and times when you quickly remove the Airpods. Not for long-term wear as a necklace because the AirPods do not turn off while you wear them as a necklace. The batteries will drain. If you are not using them for an extended period put them back in the case/charger.

TAPPER
I first learned about the original anti-lost chains for AirPods(pro) TAPPERS on Instagram, but because they are gold-plated, they are on the pricey end. Also, my skin is super acidic, so any gold plating is gone after first use.
If I weren’t I would consider Tapper since it looks really nice, but please note that some reviews say their gold ones broke after minimal use. If you click on any of the photos or text below below, you’ll find other color options like rose gold, silver, black, etc.
Tapper has nylon and braided leather options but I feel like having this type of material around our neck will get it dirty easily.
LAWONDA
So I found a dupe that’s within my limited budget: Lawonda AirPod Carrying Magnetic Straps. It came in minimal but protective packaging.

MILITARY-GRADE DROP PROTECTION CASE
I looked at hundreds of cases. I really love the LOOK of Ideal of Sweden AirPod Pro Cases, BUT they are not practical for me because they are so shiny and slippery, I would easily drop them for sure.
There are also a lot of cheaper thin silicone cases out there that I think my case would easily slip out and if I did drop it, thin silicone won’t provide much protection. So I picked the RHINOSHIELD AirPods Case with Carabiner for AirPods Pro 2.
It came in this super cute happy box. I think it’s a great gift too!
I have to say I’m so happy because I love #BuyMeOnce items. I spent a little bit more, but I won’t have to change it because I know that the silicone will not get torn or expand over time.

During our flight to Croatia, I used the carabiner to attach it to the bungee pocket in front of my seat so I could easily place/charge the AirPods inside each time I went to the toilet. I would never bring AirPods with me into an airplane toilet even with a chain. My worst nightmare as I struggle in the tiny space is to drop an AirPod into the toilet. OMG.
