I attended the most unusual bridal shower/bachelorette when I was home in Manila for a wedding last November. Usually I know of the prim and proper spa bridal shower or the hen night painting the town red. But I’ve never been to one that combined both in a single place! I was totally ready for an intimate spa bridal shower… little did I know you can have both ends of the spectrum in Tian Di Spa which apparently also has an underground club!
*DID YOU KNOW? Tian Di means heaven and earth respectively.
We started off with dinner at the veranda area. It was a bit humid so good thing I brought my fan and we made sure to stay beneath the ceiling fan as well. The food was good, though don’t expect healthy fare here because Tian Di is all about indulgence – as owner Steven explained to me. It was also my first time in a spa that highly encourage drinking too! (I still wasn’t aware of the entire club down below!)After dinner we proceeded to the spa part which I felt was decorated beautifully with Asian inspired mix of modern against the antique finishes of the old house. I’m glad they mixed modern in because if they hadn’t updated the look, it could possibly come off as creepy. Our room was nice but my only complaint is the lack of soap and towels for washing our hands. We all agreed that the masseuse were amazing.
After the spa treatment we proceeded to our private room near the bar, to meet up with more friends. We went down the stairs and were struck with the mysterious vibe. It’s really more of a club than a bar. Cameras weren’t allowed in the main area so I only have a couple of pictures in private room.
With our drinks, host and clay ready – we were ready for our naughty games! It was still a relatively “nice” bachelorette – the owner of Tian Di was quite disappointed that we didn’t have a surprise stripper on hand. Twinkle, who organized the night had fun games, zebra print headbands for us and a white veil for the guest of honor, the bride.
The wildest thing about the night were our imaginations! There was a game where we had to depict certain…um… positions using clay. And we were really surprised at how creative one of the girls were! She definitely has a calling in the clay art department! Click here and here to see our wild clay creations! I don’t wanna post it on the page itself, lest there be some readers with kids in the room. =P
If you are partying in Tian Di, for sure it’s better to buy a bottle instead of buying per glass. A bottle of Patron is 4,000 or about 80 USD, while a cocktail per glass will set you back almost 10 USD. After the games, we danced the night away on the main floor surrounded by eye all these Brazilian models (eye candy!) and ended up going home at 5 in the morning! And here I was thinking I’d be home by 12mn after my massage! =P Blame it on the a-a-a-alcohol!
A hen night in Tian Di is definitely a different and unforgettable experience! Just be sure you are willing to pay the price. =) Some tips: have your shower before you go to the spa and book your spa session early so it doesn’t overlap with the club music that will be blaring once that party gets started.
