Can you tell how happy I am to be back in one of our favorite restaurants in Berlin?

Literally nothing has changed about this restaurant since we were living in Berlin from 2013-2016! It may be even rougher around the edges, a bit greasier, but read on to see whether it’s truly worth coming back to!

Berlin has changed. Now we always call for reservations, especially if you are bigger group, because most of our favorite restaurants like the Royal Garden Academy, Neni Berlin & [INSERT] were all full. In fact Neni was full for the rest of the week!

I think this is the only resto that I’ve featured 3 TIMES on my blog, yet each time I NEVER EVER get to show a photo of the cooked BBQ!
Why you ask???
Coz once it’s cooked… the EQ goes out the window… and we always end up digging into the Beef Bulgogi BBQ & Pork Belly BBQ!
I promised myself on this visit, I will finally take pics… but EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. We all forget!!! I guess after all the hard work of cooking the darn things, we just all DIVE IN!!! LOLLLLLLL!
The frozen slices are the Pork Belly BBQ & underneath are the refillable side dishes. Once the pork is cooked place a slice on the lettuce wrap, add the kimchi & bean sprouts on top then dip it into the Korean bean dip before immediately biting into the wrap. Seriously FOODGASMIC!

For our Muslim friends we ordered the Beef Bulgogi BBQ & we were very careful not to interchange the chopsticks for the different meats so as to respect their dietary restrictions.

They always serve the BBQs first so that you can start cooking them already. Then the Kimchi Pancake came out next. It’s nice to enjoy this with the dipping sauce while chatting & cooking the BBQs.

Another must try here is the Ketchup Chicken which is great with rice. Though the rice is not pictures, each person gets a bowl of rice, and you can order free refills of the rice, side dishes & dips if you finish them.

I think the Bibimbap (rice bowl topped with veggies, bulgogi, sauces & egg) was a bit redundant because we already had rice with bulgogi & lots of veggies side dishes. I think I would only recommend ordering this if your group is not big enough for the Beef Bulgogi BBQ.

Just to manage your expectations, Arirang is where you go if you want affordable Korean BBQ but don’t expect much on the ambiance & bathroom.
Like most restaurants in Berlin, you don’t expect super fast service because chances are there are only a few wait staff & a lot of tables. So be assertive or even head over to the bar to get what you need.
We thought we ordered too much, but guess what? We wiped it out! The servings are pretty big for the Korean BBQ so don’t believe it’s for 2. I would say it’s more for 3-4 each.

For the price and the delicious food, we still go back! Look at our happy faces & full bellies!

I did this quick reel to remember our first meal in Berlin during this trip! I hope you enjoy watching it. Tap on the reel to pause it so you can read the subtitles!
