Considering the German reputation for being disciplined and organized and their love of beer, it shouldn’t have come as a surprise that Public drinking is perfectly normal here. Berlin has not fallen into chaos because of their lax laws on drinking. Supposedly the legal drinking age is 16 for undistilled alcohol like beer and wine, and 18 for the harder stuff. Besides, it doesn’t mean that you should drink on your way to work does it?
I think it’s cool that people can drink responsibly and in moderation. They are VERY strict with drunk driving here so people are super scared to do it.
