Yesterday I attended the WILLKOMMEN IN BERLIN First Steps in Berlin tour of Wilmersdorf, the heart of West Berlin. I learned from my Deutsch Integration Class that Ku’damm (part of Wilmersdorf) is Zentrum or the center of West Berlin, while Mitte is the centre of East Berlin. Berlin is a city that will always reflect its divided past and having two centers/Mitte instead of one, is another reflection of this history. I loved taking photos of the beautiful neighborhood and the art/culture-rich area.

We met at the Literaturhaus entrance. And had coffee at their beautiful cafe called Wintergarten.
I was really excited to be back in Wintergarten because this was the very first restaurant we ate in when we arrived in Berlin. We met with TD’s colleague and she took us to here, where indulged in cheese, cold cuts and beer for lunch – things that we missed a lot when we were living in Jakarta due to the exorbitant prices of good quality imported products.
I especially loved these 2 paintings. They remind me so much of the Neke Painting I have. Don’t you think so?
