When we leave our country or region, one of the things that we miss most is the food. Don’t you agree? I’ve been in Asia all my life and my stay in jakarta and the travelling that we did in Asia has deepened my appreciation for the different Asian Cuisines. The wonderful Pho and Cha Gio of Vietname; Crispy Catfish Salad of Thailand; Sushi, Japanese Harako Meshi and Gyoza, Chinese Dimpsum… just to name a few of my favorites.
I am happy that there are many Asian restaurant options here in Berlin, but we cannot do it too much because eating out often can be costly. I am just so happy that the Asian Supermarkets in Berlin are amazing. So amazing that I can find many more Filipino products than I could ever hope for in Jakarta. I’ve been to several smaller ones, but the best one I’ve found so far is Vin Loi Asian Supermarket in Steglitz.

There are pinoy staples like and they also have my favorite Japanese roasted rice tea (Genmaicha).
