I am taking a break from Bali blogging, though I still have a couple more posts to go, because I can’t wait to write about our trip to Yogyakarta (also called Jogjakarta) a few of weeks ago. It’s not as popular as Bali, but it is home to the biggest temple in the world, the Borobudur temple. I was just tagging along on one of my husbands meeting. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency. Our stay was wonderful, although the food was not as good as we expected.

I am a minimalist, so I liked the simple but tastefully decorated room. The thoughtful little touches like complimentary fruit & box of chocolates made my stay.

Nice, spic & span bathrooms, with complimentary water for brushing. Though you don’t need it because they have a water filtration system so you can brush your teeth with the tap (Yes most of the time you cannot brush your teeth with tap in Indonesia). Toiletries were quite complete and in concealed in nice custom-made containers! (the O.C. in me was impressed)

Ample storage for clothes, accessories, shoes, etc. AND lots of hangers =P – VERY important when you’re dressing to impress!

Interior design & architecture was excellent. The structure of the building was inspired by Borobudur (but I wasn’t able to get a good pic). It was a great blend of modern facilities, minimalist aesthetics & cultural highlights.

Everyone was talking about the breathtaking views of the golf course & great landscaping. And the signature soothing sounds of Jogja is always a treat (and makes me feel like I’m in a spa).
My stay in the hotel was so serene and relaxing that I totally forgot about my Blackberry, laptop and all the other distractions I brought. How could I be bored with all that beauty to stare at and be quiet with?

Hyatt Regency in Yogyakarta looks great! I hear so many good things about this hotel from many others, too.
It really does have amazing interiors and architecture sweety. I loved our stay, even if the food (which is usually a big deal for me) is only so-so. I think I got full from the amazing beauty of the hotel. =P It’s not so bad though because our favorite restos in Yogya (SAWA for steak, Ikan Bakar Jimbaran for seafood, and Villa Hanis for Belgian fried chicken and desserts) are so nearby!
