I love having Edamame in Japanese restaurants but when we tried the Chili Garlic Edamame in IKOMAI our brains exploded! It was so so so good guys. Perfect with ice cold draft beer!

Because we couldn’t go to IKOMAI during Quarantine TD decided we should try to make the same dish because we had some frozen edamame from S&R that was taking up precious freezer space.
We tried this recipe and it turned out delicious! Don’t forget to sprinkel rock salt on top before diving in!
Though we know how to make it at home, we also miss the rest of the food, the ambiance and service of IKOMAI. Chef James and Chef Hide have become lovely friends of DiploBaby.
Ikomai is our favorite neighborhood joint and Japanese restaurant because they have hands down THE BEST Chicken Karaage we have ever had. They have a Japanese Chef and Chef James does the best desserts. To know what our favorite things to order are read my complete review of Ikomai x Tochi.
Just found out that they just launched a take out and delivery menu, so we can now get our favorite Chicken Karaage, which takes them 2 days to make and was the secret recipe of Chef Hide’s dad.
