Mamou is a favorite of many foodies in Manila. The steak is always talked about, though I cannot for the life of me remember how it tastes. I am not a steak person. (I am more likely to remember the 1kg crab my dad brought us from Mindanao or a lechon dinner, rather than a thick cut of juicy steak.) Just wanna share with you photos of a brunch TD and I had there. Love the homey ambiance and comfort food. Calling Mamou a Home Kitchen is perfect! We were absolutely ravenous so we ordered a lot and wiped it out. Photos after the jump!
Why Mamou?
TD had Mango shake and I had Dalandan Mint Shake. The Dalandan mint shake was just wonderful! TD always has mango shake when we are in the Philippines because nothing, absolutely nothing, taste like sweet Philippine mangoes!
Cracked cheese with fuel and honey. I like dipping the salami and the cheese into the honey and having a bite – the sweet and savory flavors explode in you mouth!
Yummy complimentary breads (loved the brown bread!) and Lorenzo’s Truffle Cream Pasta. The pasta is simple and good, the way only fresh ingredients can make it.
Eggs Benedict – bread topped with bacon steaks, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. It was good, but not as yummy as my favorite EggsBen from Apartment 1B. The herbs helped add to the flavor.
My favorite part was coffee an dessert! We had French Press Benguet Coffee (Benguet is a cool-climate province in the North of the Philippines) with Dark Chocolate Sansrival. #YUM It was the perfect end to the meal!
Happiness ❤
I can’t believe this was last Christmas! Time seems to fly so fast and it’s the BER moments already!
