We wanted to go to Croatia after seeing the country featured in Somebody Feed Phil. We stayed in Split because we wanted to be relaxed and not have to leave early to go island hopping. Though if you don’t mind waking up early, it’s a recommended activity when going to Split.
Split

We tried the places that Phil featured and we were super happy with the food that we ate. The food in general is quite good if you love seafood like we do. However many things are not as affordable as we expected it to be. In general I find Spain and Italy cheaper. However it’s still worth it to go to the oldest standing palace in the world!
- Split Airport new but not so organized, Ubers take too long to arrive
- Radisson Blue Hotel highly recommend this, especially to enjoy the private beach area
- The Fig Leaf daily breakfast buffet was included in our stay
- Mistral Beach Club private beach with free beds & towels for hotel guests
- Pool Bar loved being able to quench our thirst & hunger in between swims here
- The Caper Italian-inspired bar and grill was great for dinner, but it is now replaced by Triton
- Dvor Michelin-listed fresh seafood
- Zlatna Ribica budget-friendly fresh seafood! Our favorite resto in Split
- Somebody Feed Phil CROATIA featured places in the old town:
- St. Burek I’m officially a fan of Burek because of this place
- Gelateria Emiliana soooo good! Perfect for warm summer days!
- Old Town Sightseeing
- Diocletian’s Palace
- The Vestibule experienced beautiful voices of local buskers – so lucky!
- Green market or bazaar a unique shopping experience
- Rimski Mosaic all the way from the 5th century! wow!
