This was TD’s weekend project, installing the Umbra Clipper Coat Hooks we’ve had in storage for a few months now. I know we already have awesome coat hooks in our hallway, but I realized that my guest room futton is where I end up dumping bags that I regularly use, because I am not comfortable hanging them in the hallway. Usually after we used bags the wallets and other valuables are still in them so hooks in the bedroom was the logical solution for me. No more bags taking up surface space in the guest room!
I’m so happy that TD now knows how to work the power drill! We are no longer dependent on maintenance for simple projects like these. It’s my job to measure and mark the holes for drilling (I use my level to make sure that they are straight), then TD drills the holes and attaches whatever needs attaching. Loving this DIY team work!
I just adore these gigantic bulldogs clips! I think they add personality to the room. =) What do you think?
Umbra Clipper Coat Hooks
Purchased from Dimensione, Serendra High Street, Taguig, Metro Manila Philippines (Click here for other locations). If you are in Jakarta, you can check Ace Hardware Gandaria or Aksara Bookstore and Gift shop.
MakeRoom Canvas Accessories Organizer
If you are interested, the accessories organizer hanging behind the door is from MakeRoom Philippines, while the over the door hook it is hanging on is from True Value Rockwell, Makati Philippines (this is my favorite branch because of the choice of items they have).
I’ve always wanted to do this – install hooks for bags. But then, my bags are always heavy, and I feel the strain from hanging would damage my bags.
Over the door hooks are a great solution, especially for renters. The thing is, our doors don’t seem to conform with the standard door thickness. My recent purchase, (from True Value too) an over the door shoe organizer — I had to distort the metal hooks to make them fit.
And about the drill, I was asking my hubby if he thinks I can work the drill. I want things done when I want them to rather than wait for our handy man. He says NOT! Haha.
Love the bulldog clips!
Hi (eye)candy! I’ve also had to distort over door hooks as well so now I make sure to know the thickness of my door before purchasing stuff. The thing with over door hangers is you can’t put stuff that are too heavy or else the door alignment goes off! Ack.
Haha I hear ya about heavy bags. So far FINO bags are super sturdy so I am hoping that despite having all my stuff inside they will survive. I’ll let you know =P
Dude I tried learning how to drill but no way! You really need some push power unless you wanna take the entire morning to drill one whole. No wonder our super skinny manong here has such thick forearms!! LOL!
Thanks for dropping me a comment! =)
Very cute! I’d love to install coat hooks but we’re not allowed to drill. Luckily we have a dedicated coat closet but with all our winter crap, it gets full so quickly.
Hi Deeps, not allowed to drill? I thought Marlon did some drilling before? I can imagine what you mean with winter stuff being so thick. Do you also use those plastic containers that you vacuum to flatted your stuff? =)
Love this post! I will definitely follow this! Thanks for the handy tip…
I am flattered that you find this post useful Mia. Thank you for your sweet comment!
