My favourite things from the Philippines

August 6, 2012

Whenever I go to Manila I already have a shopping list of stuff to buy. Stuff that I haven’t found (yet) in Jakarta that I absolutely love. I wanna share some of them with my friends and readers in Jakarta. Check out the stuff I’m giving away after the jump!

Human ❤ Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil

Using all-natural, pure premium Sunflower oil. It’s the perfect thing to have in your bag for quick beauty fixes. A few drops can defrizz, add shine or moisturize hair tips. Use with a cotton ball to remove  makeup. I also use it to moisturize my skin or apply on legs for that flawless look without the heavy oily feeling. It’s a miracle in a bottle! Check out what else it can do!

  • Softens and gives you lighter-looking underarms
  • Helps lighten dark under eye circles
  • Helps lighten darks spots and pimple marks
  • Moisturizes under eye area
  • Helps prevent and diminish the appearance of stretch marks
  • Softens feet soles, knees and elbows
  • Can be used as overall body moisturizer
  • Softens cuticles
  • Adds shine to dull hair
  • Helps relieve itching and inflammation caused by insect bites
  • Nourishes and conditions eyelashes
  • Lightens dark lips
  • Soothes skin after shaving
  • Relieves itchy scalp
  • Helps soothe sunburn
  • Smoothens skin from shaving
  • Helps soothe rashes

Human Heart Nature is distrubuted in the United States and proudly Philippine-made. I love their natural products that are cruelty free, biodegradable, paraben free and also comes from renewable sources. WOW.

ECHOstore Spa in a Bottle

When I am stressed or dizzy, I place a few drops of it in my palms, rub my palms gently together to warm up the oil, cup my hands over my mouth and nose, close my eyes and inhale deeply. Repeat until relieved. I then rub the excess oil in the back of my neck and on my temples. Works wonders!

Made with virgin coconut oil, peppermint, orange,  musk and lavender, it has a really calming and relaxing minty scent.  What a wonderful and natural way to relieve congestion, stress, nausea and dizziness!

ECHOstore is my favorite sustainable and green living store in Manila where they gather all these wonderful Filipino products that help  communities and indigenous peoples in the Phillippines. Body Basics is their in-house brand.

Bath & Body Works PocketBac

Pinoys are always obsessed with cleanliness and sanitizing. No wonder this super handy PocketBac from the Bath & Body Works is such a massive hit! Everywhere I looked, there were all PocketBacs hanging from fashionable handbags! It’s the perfect size to hang on your bag with the rubber strap, and you can easily get sanitizer without scrambling around inside your bag. This isn’t made in the Philippines, but since it’s not yet available here in Jakarta, I can only buy it when I’m back home.

Potentilla Oil Diffuser home scent in Tea Party

After my friend Mutya Laxa Buensuceso, creator of the fabulous SPINKIE products, gave me their favorite scent last Christmas, I’ve been OBSESSED. I brought 12 pcs to sell on my shop but only 5 are left now, because friends have bought them even before I’ve had time to post them online.  One lucky reader will get to sample it for free!

Copper Wire Bangle

I love copper art and jewelry! These pieces are elaborate and take a lot of time to create. The newest batch for my DiploStore will be all about copper wire (watch out for it!). The best thing about this material is is doesn’t tarnish and the combination of glass stones, beads, pearls, crystal, shell, mother of pearl, etc. make eye-catching designs. You can also bend and adjust the copper to fit you perfectly like this adjustable bangle.

Watch out for my post on Wednesday (August 8) on how you Jakartans can get a chance to win this DIPLO lootbag of my favorite things from Manila worth over IDR 400,000! I’ll also be treating the winner to coffee when I meet up with her (or him?) to give them their prize!

P.S.

This is not a sponsored giveaway. I purchased all these items with my own money. I just love em so much I wanna share them with you!

Nice! I always have a long shopping list too when I go home to Manila. I even bring bacon back here to Jakarta. Can’t wait to go back home next month. Where can I find the sunflower oil there?

I get my Human Heart Nature products from Rustans Fresh Supermarket or Beauty Bar. I imagine they are available in the other supermarkets and drugstores too. =)
