Travel Must-Have Balanzza Digital Luggage Scale

April 5, 2011

I cannot travel without this baby! Especially since you all know that we like to travel and shop! And it’s so stressful not knowing if I’ve gone over the weight limit or not. Once we know we are over the weight we do a last minute weight limit upgrade to get it cheaper than paying per Kg when we are already checking in.

Take for example in my last trip to Manila, my Balanzza Digital Luggage Scale saved me money and from another stressful airport situation. I packed the day before and weighed my luggage. I found that I was way past my luggage allowance so TD upgraded me from 15 Kg to 30 Kg! I also make sure to weigh my carry-on trolley so it’s within the 7 Kg limit + the weight of my laptop.

No more embarassing scenes of removing items from luggage or transferring them  from check-in to carry-ons while people wait in line and see all your belongings! No more paying over-priced per Kilogram weight during check-in! And it’s easier to use and more accurate than the bathroom weighing scale method or using a NON-digital hand-held weighing scale (which fluctuates if you don’t hold very still and has to be held longer for you to be sure of the results – which can possibly injure your back and strain your other muscles too).

HOW IT WORKS

Benefits:

  • Pack smart
  • Don’t pay overweight
  • Easy to use
  • Weight in Lb or Kg
  • Up to 100 Lbs or 44 Kg
  • Compact size for easy transport
  • Automatic hold feature
  • Strong strap
  • Easy read display

Specification:

  • Weight 229 gms
  • Lenght 13 cm
  • Width 7 cm
  • Powered by 2 x AAA Batteries (included)

I purchased the Balanzza Digital Luggage Scale at The Travel Club, Shangri-la Mall, Mandaluyong for about Php 1,600. The Travel Club has now transferred from the 2nd floor to a much bigger store in the Ground Floor (Beside Mercury Drugstore).

It can also be found in Rustans Department Store (Makati or Shangri-la Mall) luggage section.

Someone gave us a digital scale for Christmas too. We love it. We try to allot for about 2 pounds error so we don’t max it. But yours looks so easy to hold! And I like that it beeps to tell you when it’s caught the weight already.

Hahaha! I on the other hand alway go half a kilo over…hehe…because they usually let it go. =P Yes the grooves in the handle makes for an easy grip and the beeping is super useful because sometimes when you shake or move it’s actually fluctuating and you don’t get the correct weight. Wait a minute, yours doesn’t beep?

OMG. Hubby and I MUST have this! Did you know that before moving to Sri Lanka I’ve NEVER EVER had to deal with overbaggage? Now, every after a trip to Manila hubby and I have to pay a total of USD200 for the things we bring here! Hahahahaha!

Whoa! Grabe! 200usd?!? Yeah we always go over… mga 15kg… usually I get away with it by spreading it between my hand-bag, carry-on trolley and luggage plus charm. But it’s so stressful right not knowing by how much you will be over the weight limit again? I totally understand why you do it though! there are just some things you cannot find in your current post that you must have! I get it.

Haha this really is a must have!! 🙂 We have another kind but it really helps. So now even my sister-in-law borrows our handy scale every time she travels. Haha
