Lightweight binoculars

June 22, 2011

While I was looking for TSA locks at The Travel Club, I found some other interesting items which I decided to grab along the way. Fortunately for me they were having a special discount on most of the items because at that time they had just moved to their new location at the ground floor of Shangri-la Mall, Mandaluyong.

On of these items was a pair of binoculars from Design GO.

  • 8 x 21 magnified objective lenses
  • Variable inter-pupillary distance
  • Pocket Sized ( 9 x 6cms) and very light

When I was in high school, my dad gave me a pair of binoculars for Christmas. It was a strange gift to give a daughter who is such a girly-girl. I did get a kick out of it though. In a way my dad was right, I was the son he didn’t have for a long time until my brother came along. Despite being a girly girl I did appreciat the binoculars, the Maglite (It’s in my bedside table), the shooting lessons and the off-road driving we do whenever I visit him. Despite not looking it, I guess I am one of the boys. And I definitely got my love for gadgets and gizmos from my dad. Ooops, I digress.

Okay back to binoculars… this baby is so much lighter than my original binoculars. Perfect for traveling and sight-seeing! Wonderful for anyone going on a cruise! Ahhhhh… I wonder if TD will ever take me to one someday? ;P  I can also use em for  concerts and would have been great to have when I watched the Azkals live in the Suzuki cup too! (1st & 2nd leg)

How about you? Would you have any use for binoculars? (like babe watching in Bora =P)
