Getting a Haircut in Piandre During the Pandemic

January 8, 2021

During this lockdown, I’ve been a YouTube Barber for all the guys in our family, but recently my trusty Philips Trimmer has finally conked out. It makes a weird loud noise after only a few swipes and I barely finished my FIL’s hair cut on it’s last use. We don’t quite know what to buy locally, especially after a disappointing few years of use from a well-known brand.

So I thought and thought about it and found out from Nikkimbento that Piandre can actually be booked out for a whole family/group bubble. But the Ph30,000 consumable seamed a bit steep especially since none of us were coloring our hair.

So I asked them how many people they usually have at one time: Maximumg of 5pax. A friend told us that he went to the Felipe & Son’s Barberdashery at 2-3pm on a Thursday and he and his son were the only people there. So I got the whole family, including the in-laws to get a haircut at that time exactly. And guess what? We were the only ones so it’s like we closed it down anyway!

They ask you to put all your stuff in a plastic back when you come in. I sanitized my phone and hands when I came in too.

Each of the 5 stations has an air sterilizer and sanitizer.

Towels are covered in plastic to protect them.

Everything looks super organized and sanitized.

They sanitize the chairs in between each person.

I took the chance to get my toenails cleaned. I don’t do nail polish.

While the others were getting hair cuts I had a hair treatment – I bring my own deep conditioner – but I do it because of the amazing head and back massage they give. While another person was giving me a foot massage. I was in HEAVEN!!!

DiploBaby got a hair cut too. They invert the mask for added protection during the wash.

My handsome young man!

My hubby (not pictured) and Father in law got a much needed hair cut too!

I honestly felt like a new person after! Not yet ready to get my hair colored.

My MIL before and after her haircut! She looks amazing with her natural gray hair color right?!?

My hair was so bad that this was how I came in LOL! My before and after!

It was a Merry Christmas indeed for all of us to get a professional haircut last December.

Felt so good! We used to take it for granted that we go to the salon for treatments and massages every week… and now it’s a once in a long while treat after 9 months!

I was also super sad to find out that my favorite for the massage/treatments Nikki and Joco had resigned already since they preferred to lock down in the province with their families. I hope they are doing well.

How about you? Have you had a hair cut or treatment during this pandemic? Where did you go and what was it like?
