I am currently reminiscing about Ramen after my post on Ramen Sanpachi Blok M. In November 2011 in the sleepy, but relaxing part of Bali – SANUR – we found the best Ramen place I’ve encountered in Indonesia thanks to the recommendation of Travels with a Gourmet. It’s a small hole in the wall called Gonta Ramen Bar. Photos after the jump!
Everything we ordered (edamame, curry rice and shoyu ramen & gyoza set) was amazing and the service was fast. The noodle bar is small and quaint with only a few seats and walls lined with Japanese books and comics. We paid only IDR 173.000 for everything, which is not bad considering the quality of our meal.
Makes me wonder if this place is still open. Anyone recently in Sanur, Bali? If you are there….do let me know!

Thanks for the plug 🙂 Hope Gonta is still open.
Do they have a space for car park? Thank you
Dear Jane, this is a small restaurant by the side of the main street so you will have to find street parking somewhere nearby. I didn’t really note it because we walked everywhere in Sanur or took a cab. I hope the resto is still open and you find it delicious! Do let me know!
