Say bye-bye to tangled Christmas tree lights!
I learned about this technique from a book called Real Simple Solutions. This is a great book that I bought in Jakarta many years ago when we were posted there and is still helpful for me today. The simple solutions really are brilliant!
For Christmas decorations, the thing that I dread the most is the lights. TD and I would always quarrel when it was time to put up the lights because it was so stressful – the wires would always be getting knotted or stuck and it was not a pleasant experience. But ever since we learned this technique it’s much easier to do and also much easier to undo after Christmas time when it’s to put away the Christmas decor.

Basically you go up ONE HALF of the tree weaving the lights around the branches, then when you reach top, you go down THE OTHER HALF of the tree. This results in less twisting and knots that result from going around and around the tree.

Hope you find this helpful! If you want more simplified trips and tricks for the home, you can get Real Simple Solutions on Amazon.
