Hubby cooking for me Part 2

November 1, 2010

When I woke up this morning, TD was outside the room. I automatically assumed that he was working in the study so I called to him to ask for a good morning hug. It took him awhile to come in, and when he did he was in a hurry because apparently he was cooking brunch! What a great thing to wake up to! And I’m amazed – it’s the SECOND time he has ever cooked for me, both times within a week! Wow. Check out the pics below for some yummy “dude food” – as my friend @MDJSuperstar likes to call it!

Thanks to my mom-in-law for bringing the chorizo from Spain, to Manila then to Jakarta! We’ve tried to find chorizo here in Jakarta but no luck and substitutes just don’t compare to the real thing! (Our lentils soup doesn’t taste the same!)

Scrambled eggs cooked in chorizo fat. We felt that the chorizo fat didn’t enhance the flavor of the eggs as much as expected.

Garlic fried rice just the way my step-mom does it, very garlicky and not greasy at all! Recipe for The Most Garlicky Fried Rice.

Fluffy scrambled eggs. We decided that the crispy fried chorizo was better with good old fashioned eggs – scrambled for me and fried for my husband.

[…] right?!? =P Now I know, and I think he liked the experience too because he wants to cook  a chorizo brunch this weekend. Now this is a nice perk to being sick! […]
