Cayenne Baskets and Organizers

May 10, 2011

I love organizers!  I’ve been looking for presentable looking baskets with liners (or in material that’s easy to clean if there is no liner). And I basically found a local version of IKEA in Cayenne in Kemang. No IKEA here and Muji is a bit too expensive for me + plastic organizers are for keeping inside drawers not for displaying in shelves.

It’s not as cheap as I would like it to be which is why I’ve been holding off on buying… but I was so happy to see their booth at the last INACRAFT FAIR 2011!  All the items in the fair were 30% off the original price (except for the basket liners). What luck!

Hampers with liners for sorting colored and whites in the laundry area. Rp 270,000 for both. (USD 27)

Plastic baskets:

  • Large Rp 115,000 + liner 40,000 (USD 11.50 + 4)
  • Medium Rp 105,000 *liner out of stock (USD 10.50)
  • Small Rp 95,000 + liner 30,000 (USD 9.50 + 3)
  • Note: The above are the original prices but I got 30% off the prices of the baskets.  No discount on the liners.

The latter are expensive but I console myself with the fact that it’s very durable (last longer than woven leaves), carries a lot of weight and super easy to clean. I’m really happy with them.

What i love about Cayenne is the use of natural materials and plastics, together with batik prints yet making it look clean and modern. They work with people in some islands in Indonesia to combine culture and modern concepts to create beautiful pieces.

More INACRAFT FAIR FINDS to come! I wish I had time to compile everything in one mega post!

Also I just realized that Titi of Cayenne gave me a discount voucher if I visit the store on or before May 7, 2011. Perfect! They have other items that they didn’t have during the fair that I would like to get… at discounted prices! I’ll be visiting the their store soon!

Cayenne is one of my favorite stores in Jakarta!!! You’re so lucky to purchase the baskets 30% off!! I’ll definitely have to check out the INACRAFT next year. Thanks for the information though. I’m so lame that I couldn’t find the time to go this year. You’re really good at bargain shopping and I’m always very impressed with your finds. I love these baskets of yours and I cannot wait to find out where you’ll use them. I also love any organizers!

I lovee the color of the hampers and they look like they’re in super good quality.

And seriously, shame on me, I’m an Indonesian who hasn’t been to InaCraft and I didn’t know about Cayenne ’til today!
