Quick post on an Asian restaurant that we found near the location of Winterfeldtplatz Farmers Market. This Korean Restaurant hit the spot, when we were craving for some rice!
Since the servings in Berlin are German-sized and we weren’t that hungry, we decided to order one dish first, Beef Bulgogi with a siding of white rice and kimchi. At first we thought it wouldn’t be enough for the 2 of us, but boy were we wrong! The two of us Asian-sized foodies, were completely stuffed after sharing this dish. Be warned, this dish is quite spicy, but SO YUM!!! I thought Jakarta has already gotten me used to spicy, but I actually started sweating a bit during the meal haha!
When we read a blog review, someone wrote this on Qype:
And it’s totally true! The entire place is covered with bible verses, and I had a hard time finding the actual food in the menu because of all the religious propaganda. Gotta admire the owners for their passion! It’s also nice seeing the Korean ladies cooking your meal… getting an authentic home-cooked Korean meal rocks!
The only negative thing about this place is that there is no toilet. This is weird because a German friend said that it is actually illegal for restaurants not to provide a toilet for their customers. I have no idea is this is true or not, but it is a bit inconvenient. We had to buy something from the Berlin Burrito Company next door so we could use their toilet.
Once we were full, we felt ready to conquer the Winterfeldtplatz Farmers Market! If you decide to try it out, I recommend the Dolce Freddo Ice Cream Parlor for some delicious ricotta and fig gelato after a spicy meal!
We plan to come back to try the bibimbap and other dishes! Have you ever tried Ixthys? What do you recommend?
What are your favorie Asian restos in Berlin ? We are definitely missing Asian food and tips for yummy restos are always appreciated!
