This is our favorite restaurant in Jakarta and is the one we frequent the most. It’s our favourite place for brunch (the eggs benedict are arguably the best in the city) and it is also a fail-proof place to take visitors from out of town, because there is something for every taste, the staff speaks English, service is relatively good, the ambiance, fresh interior design and music cannot be beat. Oh and they serve pork. Big plus.
The smoking area looks out to the Bundaran HI.
Social House is always busy, so calling to reserve a table is a must.
The Grandma’s Iced Lemon Tea is the drink to order here. Sweetened with sugar cane and topped with a scoop of lemon sorbet, it is one of the most delicious sweet iced tea I’ve ever had. Not too sweet, nor too bitter – perfectly refreshing!
Most of the menu is delicious, but not everything. We’ve learned to order our favourites and to ask the waiter what they recommend based on what we are craving for. In my experience the waiters know what they are talking about and have never recommended anything we didn’t like.
Despite being full, we always share a small dessert plate afterwards, because their desserts are quite good too. Another thing to try is their chocolate martini, and other cocktails. Though they are expensive, they are delicious!
Another thing to try are their sushi and the four cheese pizza. Have you ever been to Social House? What dishes have you enjoyed? I’d love to hear from you!
If you love to eat in other Ismaya Group restaurants, then it’s well worth getting the Ismaya Dining Card.
