Affordable Decor at Galeri Pot Jakarta

September 18, 2013

One of my absolute favorite finds in Jakarta is Galeri Pot in Kemang Timur. Not only do they have a wide selection of shapes and colors and affordable prices, but you can also have pots AND lamps custom-made to your preference. How cool is that?

I love their white, Prada silver and gold pots. In the 4 years I was in Jakarta, I bought 4 pots from Galeri Pot and I’m very happy with them. I even brought them with me to Berlin. You can see the pictures of them in my home in the bottom of the post.

I wish I bought this gorgeous gold round decorative lamp below, but I didn’t have space in my shipment. I still regret not getting it! Sayang!

Those are the neutral and earth-toned colors that I love. For those who like it colourful, there are so many options too.

This is also a great place to a buy lamps. Not only are the prices cheap compared to mall stores in Jakarta, but it’s entirely customizable to your taste and size needs. Just pick any pot, and they can turn it into a lamp. You can choose the lampshade colour, shape and size too!

Don’t forget to head over upstairs to see the customised pots they made. If you don’t see anything you like or you find a shape you like, but not the color you like, they can create one for you. It takes them 6 weeks to produce, but I find that they meet the delivery date and call once your order is ready.

When you are on Kemang Timur, look for the black and white signed pictured below.

These are the 4 pots I bought during my stay in Jakarta: (Click on links to see full post)

  1. White pot for holding decorative bamboo to cover unsightly wires in our dining room
  2. White pots with shiny finish for holding decorative bamboo in our room
  3. Prada Silver pot for holding faux greens to add a little height to our hallway console table
  4. Long cylindrical Prada Silver pot used as an umbrella holder (made to order) by the door

You can see the 2 Prada Silver pots serving the same purpose in my Berlin Hallway in THIS POST.

I told my good blogger friend Kaho about this place too and it’s funny because we took pictures at around the same time. See the cute candle holders she purchased from Galeri Pot HERE.

Hi there! Would you know if they allow you to bring your own pot so they can electrify it and turn it into a lamp for you, or you’re restricted to buying pots from them? 🙂

Hi Kichi, I’ve never thought to ask them!I am sure they can do it though with a fee for the wiring and he lampshade. But some shops in Jakarta are funny so it’s better if you call and ask them. Someone in the store usually speaks English, either of the owners (a couple) can speak good english.

Love your post! I love Galeri Pot! I have the round shape decorative lamp in white in our new home and I love it. It is a reminder of our time in Jakarta.

Gosh I saw the round lamp in white in your pictures and I find it even more attractive than the white. I so so love it! You had some really great last buys in Jakarta and I admire your planning to be able to fit it in your shipment.

I am so going here for some vases and maybe a lamp or two 🙂 Looks like a great shop. How are the prices of the silver vases you have in your hallway?

Hi Amelia, I think the Prada silver vases were around IDR 130,000 for the small one and IDR 165,000 for the umbrella stand. I hope I remember the prices correctly. For Jakarta, this is very reasonable.

Hi, I’m looking to order a ceramic pot. Size is 75 cm in height and about 50cm in with top and bottom. The middle about 80 cm. I need it to put a round glass on top for a dinning table. It has to be green. I don’t mind ordering if you would please give me suggestions on the waiting time. Where is this shop located?
