JAKARTA EATS: Dinner for KOI Fans and Followers

April 14, 2013

Just came from dinner with Kaho at Koi Kemang. She invited me to an Appreciation Dinner for KOI Fans & Followers, wherein if you Like or Follow KOI, you get to have a fabulous 3-course meal for only IDR 100.000 (excluding drinks). What a neat idea and an amazing deal for KOI food! Thanks so much for inviting me Kaho. I can’t believe we wiped out all that yummy food! In the end we only paid around IDR 150.000 including drinks, tax and SC for such big servings of food. Some foodporn after the jump!

My lovely date for a rainy Sunday evening, Kaho of Chuzai Living.1-KOI Restaurant Fan Appreciation Dinner

I ordered a hot cinnamon tea, while Kaho had a lemon squash iced tea.

One plate each of Gratined Baby Scallop. This is one of mine and TD’s favorite dishes in KOI.

For the main dish, there is a choice between fish or Rib-eye Tagliata. Kaho and I both opted for the fish option of Gratined Chestnut Barramundi Fillet. The fish was so fresh and the lemon added a nice contrast to the saltiness of the fish.

For the fish, I absolutely love the way the lemons are served! There is no need to touch the lemon itself and get juice on my hands! What a great contraption…especially for us bloggers who have to click away with our camera throughout the meal! (If we are not super careful, there is always a danger of getting some food on our cameras.) I must remember to ask Alain where he got this. I bet you it is custom-made.

And the Pièce de résistance was the KOI’s apple pie with home made Vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. OMG, who would have thought we would each finish everything on our plates. Note these pictures I am showing are all per person! Haha!

All in all, it was a great night of food and chatting with my favorite blogger friend in Jakarta. When Kaho and I get together, it’s always a lot of sharing about tips and finds in Jakarta and about blogging. I love having friends I can talk to about my passion for blogging! Thanks for again for inviting me Kaho!

that looks like a lovely meal! btw, do you plan to (or have you already?) do a post on Sala? It’s my current favorite go-to for brunch, so far everything has been fantastic. I’m surprised it doesn’t get the same level of patronage as Koi. would love to hear your review.
