When we were meeting up with our friends from the Embassy, we wanted somewhere near their place that checked off our wishlist of places to dine in. Manzini was the perfect location for our brunch!
So good to see old friends from our Berlin days!
At first our kids were shy, but they warmed up & it was so nice seeing them chat!
Germany are obsessed with sparkling water or Wasser mit Gas. There are so many brands so we get served different ones in different restaurants. It’s so interesting. Germans are obsessed with Sparkling Water. Did you know that Germany had the very first Water Somelier?
Another thing we love in Germany are their bread! So good. And the brown bread is something we cannot find much in other places.
Brown bread with excellent butter.. drooooollll!
All the breakfast dishes came with different types of bread (right below). TD had the omelette with the bacon inside. It came with a side salad & pickles (left below). I ordered the scrambled eggs topped with crispy bacon. The bacon perfectly crunchy here!
One can also get a german breakfast of cheeses, cold cuts & fruits.
Extra OJ please!
It was so nice catching up with friends!
MANZINI’S is a Berlin institution for a reason. Whether you go for the their moule frites like we used to or for brunch, you will have a fabulous time.
It’s so convenient to have a church & playground nearby too!
There is a playground nearby & Ludwigskirche or St Ludwig’s Church where we had our church wedding & where DiploBaby was baptized. So after eating, to give us time to chat TD took the kids there to say a little prayer.
While outside I was attracted to this beautiful all white galerie, called Galerie Burster. The figures inside look like K-pop stars in all white. Of course I loved it. Too bad it was closed but here’s a peak inside.
Before going, I wanted a photo of DiploBaby & TD to compare to their picture here in December 2015 right before we moved from Berlin to Manila. You can see how Manzini & DiploBaby looked then HERE.
JULY 2022 DiploBaby is almost 7yo
Thank you for the lovely brunch dear friends!
As we were outside we noticed these brass plaques that we usually see scattered on the sidewalks when we walk around Berlin.
