When going to East Berlin, the Berliner Fernsehturm is always a nice site to see & they also have really gorgeous street art or graffiti!

MERCEDES PLATZ
Mercedes Platz has a convenient underground parking area and you go up to see this great mural which is super Instagrammable!

The dancing fountains are also a huge hit with the kids, especially during hot summers. I recommend bringing extra clothes and rubber slippers if you are going to this area with kids!

DiploBaby’s shoes got soaked as we has playing here while waiting for the food at Tony Roma’s to arrive. He should have gone barefoot sooner!

According to our friends and hosts Tess and Alex the Mercedes Benz Arena is a fabulous place to watch concerts in because of the smart design.

Thank you Tess for this super cool Mercedes Benz shopping trolley token! Of course I had to take a pic of it with the arena in the background.

EAST SIDE MALL
We had some time before dinner to do a bit of shopping. I purposely only had half of our luggage full when we flew to Berlin so that we ha space to do a bit of shopping. I love how AFFORDABLE organic or bio products are in Berlin.

MUDDASTADT
If you are looking for souvenirs of Berlin, then this is a good store to go to. They have some pretty kitchy stuff like keychains & magnets but there are also some classy ones like these buttons…

And an excellent collection of Buddy Bears. My dear DiploFriends from the Willkommen in Berlin gifted me with one before I left Berlin in 2016. Can you guess which one I got? The plain white one of course!

They also have small versions which is pretty handy.

MÜLLER
I was looking for some organic/bio products and my friend Tess said that I can find it all in Müller & she was totally right! I was in heaven just browsing through all my favorite brands. You can find almost anything in this store, but I went straight to the BIO section.

They even had this “clean” perfume brand. Unfortunately the scents themselves are sythesized or chemical based. I’m still on the hunt for Essential Oils-based perfume.

NATRACARE is the only plastic-free, bleach-free & organic cotton feminine product brand that I know of. Many of the organic cottone products still contain plastic barriers. Once you shift to this, you will really notice a huge difference in terms of comfort! Because they don’t contain the same harmful chemicals, there is definitely less redness and irritation!

WELEDA is my favorite bio/organic personal care brand for myself and for DiploBaby. I always thought it was German only to find out that it’s SWISS! However it costs half the price to buy it in Amazon Germany and have it delivered to a German address than in Switzerland. Crazy right?

PRIMAVERA is my favorite European Essential Oils brand because of the reasonable prices, organic ingredients, and the quality so high quality that they don’t distinguish between the edible and non edible EOs.

They also have some blends now!

DR. HAUSCHKA is another favorite bio/organic personal care brand of mine! The prices are reasonable too for the quality!

DR. BRONNER’S is not a German company but the founder is an American of German-Jewish descent. They have castile soaps made the traditional way using organic ingredients and each one has at least 18 uses! Seriously it’s the best thing to have for your home because not only is it natural, but it can perform so many functions at home, that it reduces the products you use and declutters your home while making it healthier too!

There are so many more products in just a section of the entire MÜLLER shop. I just focused on the bio section and was already overwhelmed with the choices!

I got sooo jealous when I saw this sign at the counter! Imagine our Soda Stream Duo refills are 13-15 CHF here in Switzerland and in Germany it’s only 6.99 Euros! WAaaaaaaaahhhhh!

DM
I was absolutely in heaven in DM and did a MASSIVE supplement & healthcare items haul. We were so in a rush that I didn’t get to take a pic of everything I got. My only regret is not getting more of this bite clicker. If you get an insect bite, a one second zap of this battery free gadget will neutralize the bit. It literally makes it disappear & you wont feel itchy at all.

Another thing I always buy when I’m in a German drugstore like DM are the bandaids. They just have soooo many kind. I especially love the Mivolis Aqua Plaster Strips for Children. It’s the best because it’s waterproof & 1 box contains different shapes & sizes. It’s a bit annoying that it’s only 1.75 euros in DM but 6.71 on Amazon.
Aqua-Pflasterstrips für Kinder
How cool that they now have more eco-friendly bandaids called Hansaplast Green & Protect!

Not pictured is all the super affordable supplements we purchased in DM. We removed all the boxes so they would be super compact for bringing home. What we bought:
- Magnesium supplements
- Vitamin D3 + K2
- Vitamin C + Zinc similar to Berocca
- Artichoke supplements for high cholesterol
We have asked our GP about these supplements so if you plan on purchasing it’s always best to check with your family doctor or specialists to be sure it is compatible with other medication and supplements that you are taking. This is not meant to be medical advice. Just sharing what’s super affordable in Berlin.
