There were 2 other alternative titles to this post: “Desserts at DiploDen” or “The Sweet Circle.” Both are from my very funny and very clever friend Huma, whom I adore to death! I always have the pleasure of being invited to these ladies homes for a mind-boggling amount of delicious food so I thought it was time to host a tea party in my Diplo Home. It was also a good way to introduce them to my new friends Bea and Ana (of Stumble Abroad blog).
On many of our get-together, one person usually does a cooking demo to share a favorite recipe of theirs. So at the request of Dona, I also did a demo on how to make Molten Chocolate-Nutella Cakes. Thank you to Dona and Huma who documented these memories of too much food and non-stop laughter, as always when I am with this bunch! ❤
Ladies who Tea
We completely forgot to take pics of ourselves until the end so this isn’t a complete pic! Wish we had a pic with Ana and Lily too! We were too focused on the food I think =P
The Spread
I prepared no-bake strawberry cheesecake, Nutella-Banana Bread and buttered corn on cob.
I also made aglio olio e pepperoncino & parmesan chicken strips, which Diplo Dog was eyeing longingly, hoping a morsel would fall on the floor. He is a very efficient “vacuum cleaner” haha!
DIPLO TIP:
I prefer eating corn on the cob rather than having it already shucked. Nothing beats tasting the salt and butter with every juicy bite. Serve corn on cob on corn holders to make it easy for guests to eat.
For tea I served my current favorite Dilma Passion Fruit Pomegranate & Honeysuckle flavored Ceylon Black Tea, and Chrysanthemum New Dragon Pearl Tea (it comes in a ball and flowers as it steeps) that I got from Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. I got this clear Muji pot especially for serving this flowering tea – don’t you just ❤ it?
Ana brought this yummy savory baked treat, Lemon Parsley Gougeres, Kat brought homemade strawberry ice cream and Huma brought this sweet Bangladeshi dessert called Golab Jamun made of milk powder, flour, baking soda, melted butter or ghee, sugar, oil, water, cardamon, rose water. And Bea brought (my favorite) all-natural Tipco Broccoli juice – which all the girls loved! I didn’t tell them what the flavor was until after they drank it haha!
Thank you for everything that you brought ladies – so much yummy food! How did the 7 of us eat all of it?
Unfortunately 2 of the ladies had to leave early because of the big strike that was going on (I think it was the last day) so we weren’t able to take pictures with them.
Friends, thank you so much for coming despite the craziness that was going on. I really enjoyed your company and laughing my butt off from all the frank and funny conversation topics! ;P Good vibes!
Here are recipe and pictures of the baking demo for the Molten Chocolate Nutella Pudding Cakes.
I had a lovely time with you ladies! To more tea and much more dessert in the future! 😛
Many more for sure! =D
Thanks for having us over! I had lots of fun!
Hi Ana, I forgot to post a picture of the super cute card you made! What a sweet touch! Hope to see you again soon!
The food looks absolutely delicious!! 🙂 Happy Easter by the way!
Hi Anne, thank you for dropping by my blog and the lovely compliment! Hope you had a wonderful Easter too! =)
