Primea Dental Salcedo Makati

November 23, 2018

I feel really lucky that one of my best friends is a dentist and she is absolutely obsessed about teeth. I’ve never had a dentist THIS PASSIONATE about teeth. Introducing the lovely Doc. Laura Urzola Maclang.  What I love about her is that she stays on top of dental developments and I know that what she is doing is for me and the long term health of my teeth and bones. And DiploBaby absolutely adores her. She is amazing with babies and toddlers!

I’m happy to share with you that she, with a few other excellent dentists, opened their own clinic right in the heart of the Makati CBD (Central Business District) in Salcedo Village. And can I just say, isn’t it the most chic and stylish clinic you’ve ever seen? I had to ask, and she told me that they got their beautiful brass table and other items from Archipelago Ph.

It’s a one stop shop with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, so you don’t need to go elsewhere for tests and X-rays. The chairs are beautiful and upholstered with luscious German leather.

Another thing I love about their clinic is that they have different dentists, each with different strengths and specializations and they consult and collaborate with each other, so that you get the best dental care for even the most complex of cases. It’s so convenient because they provide all the best treatments under one roof. They can do everything, from General and Pediatric Dentisty to Orthodontics (braces), Prosthodontics (crowns, bridges and dentures), Oral Surgery and Dental Implants. You can check the education and accomplishments of each dentist here.  When I talk to the dentists of Primea Dental, I can feel their passion for excellent dental healthcare. Below are the welcoming smiles of Doc Don and Doc Stephanie.

DiploBaby loves their clinic and made himself comfortable during our visit.

The Diplomat getting a cleaning. We have looked forward to the opening of their clinic for months, so we were really all excited to get cleanings when they opened. We were all there!

Everything was so gorgeous. I have a thing for beautiful bathrooms so I had to take a picture. I love the gray tiles.

I’d like to tell you a story about a strange experience I once had. I went to this “Dentist for the stars” when Doc Laura was out of the country a few years ago and I was shocked that he claimed that veneers (his specialty) can cure teeth grinding and would fix my bite. I also found it weird that 1) he saw me but refused to do any work on my teeth, 2) they only took cash (usually there are different modes of payment) and 3) I almost fell flat on my face because their floors were broken. For such glowing celebrity endorsements, I didn’t expect this dentist to have holes in his floors.

I did not feel comfortable, so I decided to wait until Doc Laura got back to Manila, instead of letting him put veneers on my teeth to “magically” fix my problems.  I’m glad I listened to my instincts, because after consulting with several dentist friends, I found out that it’s better to keep my teeth because my teeth don’t really need veneers and if I did veneers, I should be prepare to spend on it because grinding can cause damage and I would need to maintain it for life. Our original teeth is still the best. Obviously there are some situations that will call for veneers but mine wasn’t one of them.

From this strange experience I realized that it’s important to go with dentists that will try to keep your natural teeth and lessen the amount of care, instead of making your teeth more high maintenance. I’m happy to know that the dentists in Primea Dental are passionate about the longterm health of my teeth. They also have different payment methods and are willing to work with insurance companies so that their dental care is accessible even to working people with limited budgets.

As a welcome gift, because their clinic is newly opened in Salcedo Village, they are offering 50% off dental cleanings until 30 November 2018. I highly recommend trying them out with a cleaning to feel the difference!

Hi Kaho, yes I took the photos with my iPhone and my Sony RX100 (the first version that came out) so it’s a really old camera, bought in Jakarta before we moved to Berlin. I’m very happy with the photo quality and how tiny and light it is, so I sold my DSLR. Our dentist in Primea, is Doctora Laura Urzola Maclang. I hope you can see her to get a second opinion. =)
