On one of our first visits to Lippo Mall, we tried Kopi Kitchen which looked good on the outside. We were attracted to its lovely interiors.
Their recommended dish, the buttermilk fried chicken, was disappointing. It was caked with way too much flour, with too little flavor. It was definitely crunchy but lacked flavor. It’s like eating dust.
The beef rendang was decent but nothing mind blowing. For some reason I can’t find the photo. But you can just imagine what rendang looks like. Be warned it’s on the spicy side.
We were looking forward to dessert, s’more waffles, but yet again we were disappointed. It was dry and lacked the s’more flavor we were looking for. It’s just waffle with chocolate syrup and a smidgen of graham and a couple of mallow bits.
The service had much to be desired. This was expected because they are still on soft launch, but what I could not accept was that they did not inform us before dining that they did not accept credit card payment. They should at least have it on one of their sign boards (they had several around the restaurant). Good thing we had just enough money. It’s severely embarrassing for patrons when this happens so the restos should be considerate and professional by informing guests beforehand.
Just because there are so many fabulous restaurants in Jakarta, I wouldn’t waste my money on a mediocre one, like Kopi Kitchen.
