A friend of ours read about the Magnum Cafe online in an international paper and told us about it. So we made sure to to come over for dessert! Good thing too because according to Fab Tad it is a pop-up resto and will not be a permanent fixture in the Jakarta dining scene.
Magnum Cafe is owned by the Unilever Walls brand and managed by the Ismaya Group. It’s no wonder it is such an impressive resto with gorgeous interiors, staff in victorian uniforms, special dishes and creations – everything that makes us customers feel like we are indeed royalty. What a great experience…
TD and I decided to get the King’s Choice and Prince’s Choice so that we could try both. I wasn’t so impressed with my Pistachio and Hazlenut combination – next time I wanna try the almond! Which are thick slivers of the delicious nut.
I love how trendy and gorgeously interior decorated restaurants in Jakarta are. They always go the extra mile to give diners an unforgettable experience, especially the Ismaya Group. So what do you think of this concept?
Next time I also want to take my picture on the photowall. Magnum Cafe is the first of it’s kind to open in the world. I hope to be back before this pop-up closes – preferably to dine in. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend you do! This concept is only open from March to May of 2011.
UPDATE (Oct 25, 2011):
I guess due to it’s success they decided to keep this pop-up resto open. Till when? I really do not know. But for those of you who have tried it or want to try it again, you still have the chance to!

YUM!!! i totally enjoyed what i had (of course i can’t remember anymore the toppings i chose) and hope i get to visit jakarta again for another magnum bar and to try out that duck restaurant you mentioned.
Wow!! I had no idea! I don’t want it to be temporary! I don’t know if I can make it before it closes!! The ice cream bar looks sooooo good!!! I want one right now! Yum! Thanks for the information! I hope to make it before it closes down. I agree with you that Indonesian restaurants always go extra miles for decor and they do make me feel excited to dine out.
I hope you make it with the girls before it closes down sweety! It will be a special experience for them for sure! The staff are even dressed as royals with their brocade tops that make you feel like you are in a ball in the victorian era!
