TD & I adore Vietnamese food, so I am excited to say that we found a great Vietnamese Deli in Berlin! It was definitely worth the long commute! I will be back for sure!
I love the modern-industrial-meets-market interiors. And I am also very happy that there are al fresco tables in the back. It was so lovely to eat amidst the garden on a find Berlin Summer day. The regular chairs were more comfortable to sit in than the bar stools inside.
The mysterious fruits inside these jars is the secret ingredient to their signature drink.
Though this is a Bánh mì (vietnamese sandwiches made with baguettes) Deli, the omelettes totally overshadowed the Bánh mì for me. The sandwiches were good, but not mind blowing like the ones I’ve had in Saigon/HCMC. The omelettes on the other hand were fluffy, crunchy bites of sweet and tangy heaven!
I loved the ice cold Saigon Beer that I ordered. TD and our friend also loved the fresh juices. Their signature drink is a sort of lemonade, that is weird at first because it is sweet and salty at the same time, but can grow on you. If you aren’t into sweet and salty tastes, then this drink is not for you.
We supposedly ordered the Beef Bánh mì and the Special Bánh mì. But I wouldn’t be surprised if we (with our non-existent German) ended up with the chicken Bánh mì instead of the beef. Doesn’t that look like chicken to you? There is a mild spicy kick.
bánh mì Chicken with with marinated chicken breast 4,70 Euro
Bánh mì Special with Vietnamese marinated pork & chicken pie 4,50 Euro
The bánh xèo are rice meal omelettes with turmeric. I love the crunchy bits and both the tofu and chicken-shrimp variations were delicious. Dip in the tangy spicy sweet Nước chấm sauce and pile high with salad = KABOOM! A taste explosion in your mouth.
bánh xèo Classic with chicken fillet & shrimp 5,50 Euro
bánh xèo Hay (vegi) with Lemongrass Tofu 4,50 Euro
In total, we spent a little over 30 Euros for this meal shared by 3 peoople. It was a big meal for us, but we were hungry so we finished it all and rolled out of the Deli, happy and stuffed.
I will be back for more omelettes for sure!

Mmmmm! We made bánh mì at home the other day and while they were delicious, I’ve been hungry for more. Too bad they weren’t mind-blowing, but maybe I will follow your recommendation for a omelet instead.
