JAKARTA EATS: Nanny’s Pavillon Bathroom

April 4, 2012

I’ve been meaning to meet up with Asian Fashion Lawyer for the longest time. And I’ve been meaning to check out this super cute resto at Pacific Place. So when it was finally time to meet up and Asian Fashion Lawyer asked me where I wanted to eat in Pacific Place.. Nanny’s Pavillon Bathroom immediately popped up in my head. *Full disclosure: I didn’t really care about the food. I just wanted the weird experience of eating in a place that looks like a bathroom! LOL!

Yup, you got it Asian retailers and designers, she specializes in fashion law in our continent!

I wish I had taken better pictures but the super harsh sun didn’t cooperate. I think it’s better to eat here in the evening or late afternoon because it can be a bit warm with the gigantic floor to ceiling windows and super high ceiling – the AC just couldn’t cope with the sun.

Toilet bowls as seats! Whoa!

This is a RESTO RAVE ❤  mainly because the super fun concept of the restaurant and how it was translated into everything from the interiors to the  the table setting, menu, staff and entertainment. I can’t really say that the food is great because I only tried the baked stuffed mushroom. Which was okay but not mind-blowing. Super yummy strawberry iced tea though! (Indonesians really know how to make great iced tea – after all Teh Botol is to Indonesians what Coke is to Pinoys. They love their teas!) I forgot to ask  Asian Fashion Lawyer how her pancakes were. Perhaps the western cuisine has also been tailored to local taste? Because it seems very popular with the locals. The prices are reasonable. Can anyone tell me more about the food in Nanny’s Pavilion?

We were also surprised with their singing waiters and waitresses in their cute uniforms! LOL!

Thanks for inviting me Asian Fashion Lawyer! Sorry for the delayed post! Many more meet-ups to come. Your area next time! =)

I would love love love to check out the other Nanny’s Pavillon concepts: Garden, Library, Terrace and barn!

This resto looks really cool and pretty, despite the toilet seats! Hahahaha…
So the prices are in “thousands”??? Sorry, what’s the conversion rate to Peso? 🙂

just think about it as 10,000 = 1 USD. Very rough conversion but pwede na. So if something is 25,000, it’s about 2.50 USD. =) Hope this helps! Thanks for dropping by and commendting Mom-Friday! =)

    Hi,

If you live in south jakarta, there’s another nanny’s pavilion in gandaria city mall, the theme is sewing room. For me the pancakes are nice, not really the best but it’s nice and cheaper than Pancious, similar resto serve pancake n pasta too.

For some items i prefer pancious as tastes better but definitely choose nanny’s for the price.

Wow, this sounds interesting. I was in Jakarta a few months ago and my colleague took me sightseeing. Had I known about this, I would have asked her to bring me here. 🙂

We visited the Wayang Museum and the Jakarta History Museum and roamed around Old Jakarta a bit, since her family is from that area. She also brought me to a market, but I don’t remember if she told me the name of the place. She also brought me to a few malls, but the only one whose name I remember is Grand Indonesia. 🙂
