I did some research on the internet for where we could eat dinner, prior to dessert at Awfully Chocolate. The names that came up where Kim Gary (HK style cafe), Shin Kushiya (Jap charcoal grill) and Brontzeit (German food & beer). I had a hard time finding more recent blogs on VivoCity restaurants, so I’d love any comments on how accurate my research was!
We ended up in Shin Kushiya, but mad the mistake of not ordering much grilled items, which was their specialty after all.

Ton Katsu Curry Don (Deep-fried pork loin served with homemade Japanese curry, rice and salad). The curry was delicious, but the pork meat was below average, it had a lot of fat, and difficult to bite at times.

Mini Tuna Maki & Ika Sugatayaki (charcoal grilled squid with teriyaki sauce). The Maki was average, nothing great. The squid was yummy, cooked well and fresh.
Would I go back? Yes I would try out another branch, but next time I will only order the grilled specialty. And the calamari, which I read was good but I totally forgot to order when I was there.
