Bali Silver and Workshops

October 24, 2011

I love shopping for Silver in Bali, much more than in Yogyakarta for 2 reasons, it’s cheaper and the designs are more edgy and modern. Normally I go to ANOM Silver (on the way to Ubud) because it’s really cheap and good for basic pieces, but the rest of the designs are more old-fashioned. So if you are into that or looking for basic pieces, you should check it out. But for really modern pieces I am loving STUDIO PERAK in Ubud!

Totally digging the “C’est la vie” pendant Rp 185,000 I got. The message is something I need to imbibe (I worry and stress too much) and wearing it is a great way to remind myself to loosen up! =)

I’ve been looking for hoop earrings for a while. I see a lot of plain hoops around, but this Harmony hoop L Rp 310,000 is so funky and modern that I fell in love with it when I tried it on. The slight twist in design makes all the difference. Just so fab.

Another massive store I’ve been to (in the same area as ANOM near Ubud) is SARI DEWI. This is for more upscale and elaborate pieces. I seriously regret not getting this gorgeous silver ring with decked out in synthetic black diamond stones for $125. It was totally worth it, and cheap at that price. I don’t think I can get a ring like that for that price anywhere else. Though SARI DEWI place is more pricey than ANOM, the pieces they have is of a different caliber as well.

I’d  love to hear your favorite places to shop for silver in Bali as well! Please share them with me on the comments below. Thanks guys! ❤

Did you try the course? It’s so fun! I’ve been there twice, and it made me wish I could do it for a living 🙂

I only wish.. haha.. next time – you have to try it. It’s not that hard, but there are tricky bits (which made me even more determined to try it more! :p)

I personally think that the silver shops in Ubud area are too expensive, sometimes twice or three times more expensive.

I usually buy from Antara Silver Bali. The shop is located in Raya Celuk. The owner actively involve in many exhibitions in Jakarta, including Inacraft.

Hi Ailtje, you are definitely right about the prices in Ubud. I was surprised but I just couldn’t resist getting these 2 modern pieces. Thank you so much for sharing your favorite silver shop! I will definitely pass it on to friends who are looking for a good silver place. And will keep it in mind if I find myself in Bali again. =) Thanks for dropping me a comment! Love it!

[…] There is a village on the way to Ubud that is full of silver shops. Ask your driver to stop on the way. In Ubud itself I found this amazing shop that sells silver in more contemporary designs. Aside from shopping for silver one can also take silver making workshops. More details here. […]
