I remember learning about Spinkie from it’s creator and founder, my friend Mutya Laxa-Buensuceso. I met Mutya when we were both single and working in tech, but when we both married we found ourselves outside the country. She was in Singapore and I was in Jakarta.
I remember learning about her super luxurious designs and finding them so cute and so much better than the loud, garish ones usually found in stores. I thought that her patent-pending pillows and accessories for children were just divine, so chic and beautiful! And I was so impressed that she was doing it during her maternity leave from a high-powered multi-national job.

She first launched her handmade brand on ETSY, while still working in the corporate world! I admire her amazing partnership with her hubby, raising and collaborating with her kids while running a little empire!

I was a customer long before I had kids, since they began in 2009. TD (The Diplomat) and I loved their very first product, the Butterfly Pillow. It is an orthopedic pillow that can be used by newborns, adults and seniors alike. It was constantly with us during our travels because the Butterfly Pillow gives us the best sleep on the plane.
I loved this pillow so much that I would hoard it whenever we went back the Manila because it was the perfect gift for baby showers & kid’s birthdays of all ages. I even gave it to my bedridden grandma to prop-up her head while watching TV (may she rest in peace). School-age kids could use it to sleep in the car on their way to school too!

Spinkie has been so successful internationally – it’s been in a Kardashian’s nursery and carried by the most beautiful Scandi inspired brands – that so many people think it’s from Australia or Scandinavian. In reality, Spinkie is proudly designed and made by moms in the Philippines. I am so happy that finally they are launching it locally because it’s #ProudlyPinoy.

It’s one of my secrets to babying in style (their former tagline)! Spinkie pillows and toys allow me to have a decluttered and beautiful room for my toddler! We have Spinkie Pillows all over our home, adding a touch of whimsy to my couch and all our beds! Aside from the Butterfly Pillows, our favorites are the
My son considers his Cafe Delice toys his friends and he would serve them up tea when he was as young as 2 years old!

Bumping into Kaho of Chuzai Living
I was so happy to bump into my friend Kaho, the beautiful blogger of ChuzaiLiving. She was the one who took all those photos of my home above!

It was nice catching up while watching the fashion show with Kaho. This was also DiploBaby’s first time to watch a fashion show. He enjoyed himself because it was super fun and he was very much in awe of the styling.

Kaho did such an amazing job writing about Spinkie, that it’s a must read for me:
Magical Spaces with Spinkie

Spinkie and their events organizier Game Changer PH together with event stylist IndyPlayground did an amazing job of creating Magical Spaces in the huge venue, The Eye at Green Sun Hotel. DiploBaby was super excited to check out all the different spaces. Spinkie is famous for it’s Canopies, but now they also have teepees!

It must have felt like a wonderland for DiploBaby. I love that my son doesn’t see color. He is as comfortable in pink as he is in blue. This is because of his neutral-colored room and toys. He also looks very good in pink shorts and shirts like his Dada.
But its still super cool that they now have gender neutral stuff already! So it’s not just for girly girls now! Can you see how much he is enjoying himself?

Fabulous Fashion Show
It’s my first time to watch a kid’s fashion show and boy was it a fabulous one! Founder, creative & marketing genius behind Spinkie, Mutrya Laxa Buensuceso welcomed everyone.

The fashion show was playful, whimsical and so fun to watch! The models were amazing! I love that not only were the clothes SpinkieWear but the decorations – Pompoms and Chandeliers – were by Spinkie Baby too!

Mayumi, Mutya’s daughter
The clothes for boys and girls were just so cute! If I had a daughter she would definitely be in SpinkieWear!
Boys clothes! surprise gift for some in the audience
The show ends with Mutya taking a bow with her kids Malaya and Mayumi, who are both her muses for Spinkie. It was such a touching moment!

Congratulations Mutya and the rest of Team Spinkie together with the amazing events and styling team. What a well-deserved success!

DiploBaby Meets Tita Mutya and Tito Jinggoy
Can you see the gigil in Tita Mutya’s face. I’m so happy DiploBaby has finally met the woman who makes so many of this toys and decor at home. She is the reason his crib feels like heaven!

DiploBaby would not be able to sleep without his cloud pillows! They really set the mood for heavenly sleep.
DiploBaby also loved meeting Tito Jinggoy and was so facinated by all the body art. TD was also happy to see another guy in the event LOL!

Special Treats for Children
There was a great spread for the kids, but the hit was Pouf Cotton Candy because Manong was really an artist. Look how excited the kids were!

Exclusive Shopping

Spinkie being only mostly online, I was really excited to see all the goodies in person! Finally we could see all the designs in person. It was a wonderful treat!

Fabulous Moms Show Spinkie Some Love
It’s so amazing to also see the love from my favorite Moms of Manila! This is Sharon Gozo of Team Spinkie! During the event she was manning the shop where moms were just drooling over everythanggg!

My friend and biggest mom-inspo Tin Coscolluela. She just makes mommying look so easy. When I got back grom Manila, she invited me to be part of her group where mom’s share and support each other which she calls #MommyingTogether. Isn’t that an awesome way to mom?! I am so grateful to her, and here she is helping Mutya and Sharon with their event!
Tin and I with Mutya’s sister, the amazing multi-hyphenate Mommy Maricel.

I finally got to meet Gamechanger’s Emm Sulit in person, the event organizer extraordinaire and Waldorf Mama! I love seeing her post on the Waldorf childhood of her kids!

My always inspiration Grace Barbers-Baja, The Spoiled Mummy with her #TSMminime, Alessi.
With the fabulous Marie Field-Faith, who is such a style and fitness icon and the creator of another favorite pinoy brand of mine, Pottly n Tubby. That’s also the name of her first two kiddos, who are also models of Spinkie!

Take Home Goodies
On the way out each child got to choose one toy they would want to take home with them. DiploBaby got Puppy Jr. Spinkies toys are really so precious, aren’t they? Whimsically wrapped too!

It’s DiploBaby’s second Puppy Jr. but he loves each one of them anyway. Puppy Jr came with us on our first trip to Japan!
Thank you for inviting us to this wonderful event Team Spinkie! It was such a pleasure to witness the homecoming of Spinkie.
