Beautiful Baskets and Bags from Cayenne

June 14, 2011

Armed with my discount voucher from Cayenne where I scored some baskets at the INACRAFT FAIR 2011 I went to visit their store. I’ve been wanting to buy stuff from this store for so long. I keep going back but never buy anything because I find it pricey so this time I really wanted to take advantage of the discount voucher.

Note to my friends in the Philippines, you may gasp and say “Why is this girl saying this is a good deal?!?” but with the discounts and considering the quality and materials used, these are pretty good deals by Jakarta standards.  You wont find the likes of SM, Landmark, Divi or Greenhills here.

New bags for DiploDog

DiploDog’s new everyday bag is the Chika Bag Rp 52,500 / USD 5.25 ( Orig: Rp 75,000)

After 2 years, DiploDog’s bag is so tattered and worn that I’m afraid it will just break and he will fall. His bag is his most used accessory because every time he goes down for a walk he has to be placed in a bag and covered with a piece of cloth because normally buildings do not allow pets especially dogs (they are so much more lenient with cats) since in the Muslim religion dogs are “haram.” The only one I found was in ACE Hardware. I bought it but unfortunately it’s too small for DiploDog and it only comes in one size… =( So I brought DiploDog to Cayenne after his doctors appointment to make sure that he fits comfortably in the bag. They allow dogs in the shop! Yaaaaaay!! (Most malls here even have a sign of a dog with a big fat red line crossing it to simbolize no dogs allowed.)

DiploDog’s new bag for trips and parties is the Bali Bag Rp 91,000 / USD 9.10 ( Orig: Rp 130,000)

More organizers and baskets

I also needed to organize one of the kitchen drawers that is a catch-all for stuff. Checkout how the Cayenne Minori Box organized it from left to right…

Minori Box Rp 77,000 / USD 7.70 ( Orig: Rp 110,000)

I have a small wooden tray for kitchen napkins when there are guest, I don’t like them lying around in the kitchen drawer so I got this cute lil box for it!

Sandra Box Small Rp 52,500 / USD 5.25 ( Orig: Rp 75,000)

Then there were the last 2 of these lined rattan baskets which are now keeping my bedside and the vitamins on my buffet organized. I love that the liner is just velcroed on so it can be washed. So practical!

Sisi Small Rp 47,700 / USD 4.77 ( Orig: Rp 53,000)

Since we only have one all-around maid, I always try my best to lessen her load. I wanted to change our laundry basket into TWO baskets so that we can pre-sort the laundry into whites and coloreds. These Ray Boxes were perfect, except ran out of their canvas liners. I’m currently looking for cheap canvas cloth so I can trying sewing them myself!

Ray Box Rp 91,000 / USD 9.10 ( Orig: Rp 130,000)

The people in the store were nice enough to direct me to a store in Mayestic Traditional Pasar (traditional market) where I might be able to find the canvas cloth. The name of the store is Toko Ikobana. I’ve been planning to go with Kaho of Chuzai Living but haven’t gotten well enough to do so. My immune system must be fully recovered before going to hot, crowded, open air spaces. Be warned it’s not the cleanest of places either.

What did you think of these new Cayenne finds? You can also check out my previous Cayenne finds from the INACRAFTS FAIR by clicking here.

DiploDog was such a sweetheart while modeling the bags for me! =P I’m glad it’s inspiring you! I’ve been on an organizing frenzy lately. But my house seems even messier than it was! LOL! After all the Cayenne shopping I’ve done, I’ve to lay off for a while to pacify TD hehe! ;P

Hi! I just LOVE the blue bag with brown straps you got DiploDog! I adore it! Do you think I can order one of those from Manila? Would you know if they take orders through email?

Hey Poker goddess! Haha! It’s great to know that Diplo Dog is going out in style, if you like the bag for yourself as well! LOL! I know they do orders but not sure if they can send to Philippines. Why don’t you ask them via email above? =)
