After we checked out of our hotel we planned to go Strawberry Picking in Benguet. The truth is it was very difficult looking for the valley farmland where they planted strawberries & vegetables. We got lost at first but we ultimately found the La Trinidad Strawberry Farm. I’m writing the contact details I know at the bottom of this post below.

Finally we are here. I cannot remember how much we paid for picking a kilogram of strawberries, but for sure it’s more expensive that buying a kilogram of strawberries in their booth beside the farmland.

For me it doesn’t matter though becaue I want my son to see where strawberries come from, be more connected to how his food is grown & to have a core experience for the memory banks.

They even game him kid’s scissors! He had so much fun!

The experience of being in the middle of this beautiful green field with the sun on our skin, a nice cool breeze & being with the people we love most is such a beautiful & sharp memory for me. When I close my eyes, I can still feel like I’m there.

Yaya B had fund picking strawberries too!

TD was still wearing one crutch coz his femur was not fully healed from his cancer limb-saving operation, but he was happy to be there. He was excited to eat the strawberries LOL!

I’ve no idea how accurate the scales are but we were happy with the family experience & we took home strawberries to boot! That’s a win for me!

After we paid, you walk by a road of stalls where they sell the produce from the farm.

I can’t help but admire the tidy rows of vegetables around us.

We bought some strawberry jams too.

STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM Masarap, promise!
Upon exiting the farm a Mamang Sorbetero (strawberry ice cream vendor) was waiting for us. We cannot resist strawberry ice cream made with real strawberries from the Benguet farms!

How can you say no to that promise?

Damn, I have to say it was delicious!

Look how focused the little one is!

One of the characteristics of this cooler area of the Philippines – Benguet – is that is can grow strawberries, so if you there with a toddler, I highly recommend doing it as a family. The strawberries might be slightly overpriced but your paying for the shared experience for the memory banks.
And if you see an ice cream vendor, go ahead and TREAT YO’SELF!
