JAKARTA EATS: The Butcher Steak

May 7, 2012

I’m not fond of steak, but like all men TD is. I can have it in small bites & appreciate the taste of high quality steak so I was totally game to try out The Butcher at Gandaria City Mall.  This resto only uses US Certified Meat. Pictures using my iPad after the jump!

I love the interior design which is true to it’s butcher shop theme – so industrial chic!

To have a taste of the different cuts of meat we had the Meat Sampler (4 different cuts of meat grilled) served with 7 different sauces IDR 209,000 ++. Believe it or not TD and I agree that the best sauce is the chimichuri sauce (a sauce used for grilled meat. It is originally from Argentina and is made with chopped fresh parsley, oregano, garlic, olive oil, vinegar, and red pepper flakes.) The extra side of mashed potatoes was excellent – so creamy!

TD was really happy to be able to try the different perfectly cooked cuts and sauces. I on the other hand loved this order of Jalapeños Garlic Fried Rice with diced beef for IDR 69,000 ++. Its like a green version of Indonesian Nasi Goreng (fried rice). It’s super garlicky (which Pinoys LOVE) and the beef was so tender!

The best and most memorable thing about this meal was the delicious peach beer! OMG it’s so yummy! A definite must try for those who like those sweet girly drinks haha.

We could barely finish the food we ordered! But it was our treat for the week!  We definitely need to go back for weekday promos like all you can eat steak for IDR 129,000++ & the wagyu sale for IDR 99,000++. I recommend this place to all you steak-eating-carnivores out there.

How fun! I have seen the restaurant, but I have never been inside!! I love the interior decor. Like other places in Jakarta, I think Indonesians are really good about interior design! We’re not too into stakes, either, but this place looks like worth a try!

Hi, was reading your blog and I’m particularly interested in your resto reviews 🙂 For steak, I would personally recommend Maestro Meat Market – best steak place I’ve tried so far here in Jakarta. You can choose from various types of US or Australian steaks depending on your preferred cut, grade (they have 9++ meat grades)and type. Then they cook it for you – and they really know how to perfectly cook (depending of what you like) steaks! It’s in Senopati area. 🙂

My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Great to “meet” a fellow pinky online! Thanks for commenting and hope to hear more foodie recos from you Jay!
