When choosing things for DiploBaby, I really want only the safest things. I love scissors but they can be so dangerous AND they also rust which adds to the risk that metal scissors pose.
So when I was looking for scissors, I was really happy to find this brand that was developed by a Father for his son that had autism. He wanted to find a way for his son to be able to cut without injuring himself.
I first learned about their ceramic blade that doesn’t cut skin, when I purchase the iSlice in Jakarta, Indonesia. I was amazed that something so sharp did not cause damage to my skin!
I cannot live without the iSlice because it’s perfect for opening packages that I receive without damaging the contents. Unlike cutters, which can be quite long and sometimes punctures the contents of our package.
I also hate it that cutters get rusty over time, especially in our humid climate.
I also have the Slice Auto Retract Box Cutter for the DeclutterMNL team. It’s really helpful when we are helping our Expat Decluttering Concierge clients pack up.
I love that the blade auto-retracts so it’s super safe. The handle is also very ergonomic and a dream to use.
It is the world’s first auto-retractable box cutter with a ceramic blade & it won the prestigious 2011 reddot Award.
As you can see I am a sucker for all things scissors related. For sewing, I am also drooling over their Self-Opening Scissors for cutting small things like thread & their Safety Seam Ripper With Manual Retraction. However it’s not so well-rated and I would need to order the 10537 Pointed Tip Blade, which is apparently much better then the curved blade it comes with.
