BERLIN BITES: Tony Roma's - UnDiplomatic Wife

After shopping around East Side Mall, we were definitely hungry for dinner. Our friends & hosts Alex & Tess invited us to their favorite ribs place Tony Roma’s, that is very nicely located in the Mercedes Platz where kids can play on the fountains in summer.

While waiting for the food to arrive, DiploBaby had so much fun playing by the fountains. I should have brought him extra clothes & rubber slippers/crocs or had him remove his shoes because by the time I realized his rubber shoes were soaking wet, it was too late!

When the food arrived we were hungry! They serve Apollinaris Sparkling Water here, which is not only my favorite brand of sparkling water, but the first Sparkling Water I tried when I arrived in Berlin that made this Filipino’s love affair with German Sparkling Water. Filipinos generally do not like sparkling water, but after I tasted The Queen of Table Waters which won the Superior Taste Award 2012, I changed my mind completely & fell in love.

Through the recommendation of my friend Tess, I also tried the Strawberry Margarita! It was soooooo delicious & refreshing!

We should have told the staff not to bother serving the bread. Though I’m sure it was delicious, we didn’t end up eating it knowing how large the servings are at Tony Roma’s. We might not be able to finish the ribs if he had some bread according to Alex and it was totally true!

The full rack of St. Louis Ribs are slightly longer than the baby back ribs. They come with coleslaw & french fries or you can replace the french fries with another side dish, like this baked potato with sour cream.
