Another restaurant we’ve tried in Jimbaran Bali is New Moon Cafe. In case you haven’t seen my earlier Jimbaran posts, it is well-known for its grilled seafood. The more expensive ones also have a cultural display on certain days. Photos and verdict after the jump!
We usually have fresh young coconut juice or some ice-cold beer. Cheapest is Beer Bintang, but sometime we treat ourselves to San Miguel Beer which is proudly Filipino!
Complimentary rice, kang-kung and soup. The soup wasn’t to my liking because the ginger flavor was too strong.
The verdict: The platter looked appetizing, but I was disappointed because the lobster, shrimp, squid and crab were not fresh (mushy). The marinade is nowhere as good as Menega Cafe (our Jimbaran favorite), Radja Cafe nor Nyoman’s Cafe. The quality of New Moon food was more inferior than tourist-trap Ganesha Cafe. I wouldn’t recommend both restaurants to my friends, based on my experience.
Look up New Moon Cafe in TripAdvisor and you will see some other unhappy customers.
