I was not so finicky about bacteria before, but during this pandemic COVID is a really scary thread to our health and our families’! So I love that I found a bed, couch, upholstery and curtain vacuum that also has UVC Germicidal Lamp technology.
In my previous post I already mentioned why I got this unit and showed you an unboxing video!
Like the handy mattress vacuum that I was using before it is also cordless & bagless, which is super convenient to use! Thankfully this DUAL POWER VACUUM is only a fraction of the price of my old one.
IT HAS THREE FILTERS
- 99.97% TRUE HEPA FILTER that traps finer particles like dust, dirt, pollen, dander/pet hair, and dead skin cells.
- CENTRIFUGAL MESH FILTER that captures large particles like hair and dirt.
- POLYURETHANE (PU) FILTER FILTER This filters the air that has been separated from dust, dirt, and other particles.
TRIAL RUN
The first thing that I tried this unit on is my Scandinavian Couch which is one of the most used pieces of furniture in our home. I turned it off when DiploBaby was goofing around so the UVC lamp would not hit his eyes.

I like that it can be used vertically to get all sides of my couch. Allowing for vertical cleaning means it’s also great for Curtains, Headboards, etc.
DiploBaby was so excited and wanted to use it. It’s so easy to use even my 5 year old can USE it – with adult supervision of course! It’s simple without any complicated attachments or brushes that can damage your precious upholstery.
After doing the L portion of the couch, I could already see some dirt on see on the mesh filter.

DiploBaby got so excited he also wanted to vacuum his little stool. Pinagbigyan ko na! (I just let him)
DEMO ON MY BED
We did more parts of the couch and then showed my helper how to use it on our bed.

I also showed her that it can be done for pillows. For example we don’t wash this Spinkie Butterfly Pillow as often as I would like. For all our pillows it’s good to vacuum it and sanitize with UVC in between washes.
We usually have DiploDog snuggle with us before bed time, especially since he’s been unwell. So it’s normal to find dirt on the beddings.

Of course we are always shedding hair so this is also normal to find on our bed!

After, this quick demo we could already see more dirt on the outer mesh filter! It’s kinda getting gross already right?

The dust cylinder capacity is up to 0.5 liters but they recommend washing the dust cylinders after each use to prolong the lifespan.

This is how it looked after a quick trial on a portion of the couch, DiploBaby’s stool and my demo to our helper on how to use it on the bed.

Ate Emily then proceeded to use the vacuum our master’s bed, duvet and pillows!

After she was done, this was how the mesh filter looked. We couldn’t even see the metal mesh anymore!

Even the dust cap was dirty.

I took it apart so you can also see the finer dirt on the HEPA filter.

WHAT YOU CAN’T SEE
The UV CARE DUAL POWER UV is not just a vacuum but it also has UVC technology that is laboratory tested to eliminate up to 99.9% of surface germs, viruses and bacteria.
This is definitely a level up to normal vacuums. The UVC light is underneath and turns off if you flip it so it doesn’t hurt your eyes.

The 2 pulsating pads (2 oblongs with dots on it) helps loosen dust mites, and dirt trapped within fabrics. I noticed that for hair and stubborn dirt, it’s important that they go through the pads to loosen them and so they get sucked into the hole in the middle.

The vacuum itself is light and weighs only 1.5kg! As you could see even my son had an easy time!

BATTERY LIFE
My old Cordless and Rechargeable only had 2,100mAh while this Lithium Battery has 13,200 mAh which means it can run for much longer:
- 30 mins (Normal Speed)
- 15 mins (High Speed)
My old vacuum could only last for about 16-18minutes, so it was great only for quick clean ups! Then I would need to charge again.

The charging time for this unit is 5 Hours. I love the cute charging base coz it gives the UV Care vacuum and nice and tidy home!

CHEMICAL FREE
I think the best thing about this vacuum is that it is Chemical Free! Most of the time we would need to apply and antibacterial and anti-virus to sanitize things in our home.
Yes we do have non-toxic options like this and this, but it’s nice to know that we can sanitize our beds, curtains & couches without having to wet it with any product.

And I also like having a specific vacuum for beds and sofas, because it can be gross to use the same vacuum you use for the floor and messy cleanups for your nice and clean bed, right?
BRUSHLESS TECHNOLOGY
Another thing I like is that it doesn’t use a brush that can potentially scratch or wear down your beddings and upholstery. It is quite already effective with the pulsating pads. I would never allow DiploBaby to use our vacuums with brushes for fear of him snagging our stuff.

There are no other parts that you need to screw on and off. You just use it as is! A simple gadget for a simple and important function. As someone who is allergic to dust, dustmites, and bed bugs, I’m super happy to have this in my home!
BEAUTIFUL DESIGN
And I can’t believe it’s beautifully designed enough to be out in the open! It is currently under our TV in the living room until I find an even better spot for it!

HOW TO CLEAN THE DUST CYLINDER
According to the manual, cleaning the dust cylinder and it’s contents after every use will prolong it’s use. First turn off the machine and carefully twist the cylinder to open. Best to refer to manual for complete instructions. I also have a video below to show you how I do it!

- For the clear plastic casing or dust cup, we washed it with mild natural dishwashing soap and water.
- For the metal filter or cyclone seat we wipe off the dust into the trashcan first before giving it a rinse.
- For the HEPA filter we used a small brush to remove whatever dust we can. Or we use our bigger gruenheim vacuum to clean it. The HEPA filter is not washable but the HEPA seal ring can be washed. then we rinsed it off with water too.
Make sure all washable parts are dry before reinstalling so as not to damage your vacuum.
For the UVC Lamp, you can use a screwdriver to open and then air out the dust and use a soft cloth with Kurin or Purilyte to wipe clean. Do not touch the lamp glass with your fingers because this can stain it.
WHERE TO BUY:
VACUUM | HEPA FILTER REPLACEMENT
I’m a fan of UV Care as a company. I’ve had the Pocket Sterilizer when my son was a baby and we would use it to sterilize his stuff when we would travel. I currently have the Deluxe Germ Terminator also from way before the pandemic to sterlize stuff. Now I find it super useful to sterilize stuff that come in or that I send out.
I also dream of getting their Portable Germ Zapper ever since I saw it on Amanda Griffin’s Blog!
WARNING: Read the manual carefully. Use only as directed. Be sure not to expose people, pets, and plants to UVC lamp light.
