When people talk about Boracay they talk about the finest white sand we’ve ever stepped foot on. So fine that it doesn’t even heat up during the hot tropical days. Unlike other sand where you will be hopping about if you leave your slippers too far from the beach.
However not all sand in Boracay is made the same. The best sand is really from Station 1 on White Beach. This is really important because this is exactly where Discovery Shores Boracay is!

Just look at that breathtaking view and their decor is also super minimaluxe for Christmas last year!

Boracay was closed for a while because they needed to clean it up and have stricter regulations so the tourist wouldn’t continue to ruin the island. They were much stricter when we went last December 2019.

Seriously I’ve gone to many beaches, but no sand is as find as Boracay’s Station 1 beach!

The sand begs to be played with. Which is exactly the first thing DiploBaby did when we arrived!

Discovery keeps their beach front clean! They probably rake through it every morning because it was free from any debris or trash!

This is the best sand to build, build, build! Which is why we brought all our favorite sand toys from QUUT. They are the BEST sand toys IMO. Super cut above the rest. Just like Discovery Shores!

The water is so clear and also shallow for meters from the shore. So it’s like swimming in a natural swimming pool. It’s also fun because there are sand eating fish in the shallows. If you stand still and shake your feet to get some sand to float up, the fishes will swim up to you!

Diplo Baby loved it! I think this is also why the sand is so fine. When fish eat the sand they poop it out finer than when they ate it.

Discovery has a nice pool right in the center of their rooms!

People reserve beds early in the morning. Usually the Asians like the beds with umbrellas, while the Europeans love the ones without so they can tan to a crisp!

When you settle on a bed, they lay out towels for you, then give you extra for wiping off. And you automatically get a pitcher of ice cold infused water!

There is also a jacuzzi and bar in the pool!

If I felt cold, I would swim up to the bar and order a shot of Patron to warm me up. Their margaritas are yummy too!

They also have a lifeguard on duty the whole time the pool is open! Not many resorts have this. All the staff of discovery are super warm and friendly!

During sunset we would be treated to a dazzling display of the birds that we could see from the pool!

We also loved lounging by the beach beds by the shore to watch Boracay’s famous sunsets.

Best paired with a margarita or the yummiest mango shakes!
We brought our own carefully collected QUUT toys for this trip. It makes sand castle building much easier. They are also great investments not just for sand but also for snow. But if you don’t have any, Discovery has lots for children to play with ready by the beach!
They also have guards on duty at all times by the beach! DiploBaby loved their trucks!

Boracay’s fine sand is so great for little builders!

I am so happy we bought this pail. They loved making rivers with it!

During sunset the staff Discovery would also create art on the sand. It’s not necessary but such a nice touch!

People loved taking photos with the different sand art each day.

It also inspired DiploBaby to do his own sand art! That’s his version of a shark!

A for Alejandro!

That’s a kid!

Token beach jump shot of course!

Because beach beds are no longer allowed on the shore, they provide banigs/mats with towels and cushions. Just let the staff know where you want to lay out and they will place some for you.

Throughout the day, several times a day, the staff of Discovery would go around offering the guests treats! I’ve never seen any other resort do this.

It’s so crazy the stuff that they offer. From tasty appetizers, to an ice cold spray of Evian on your face or a cold towel!

Cold cucumbers for your eyes!

They also offer to clean your sunglasses to remove the sand and dirt!

Beautiful turquoise and blue waters that are always so tranquil.

Normally DiploBaby is afraid of waves but these waves were so gentle, he loved playing in the water.

To the left of Discovery is the famous grotto that used to be called Willy’s Rock because of the resort it faced. Now it’s called Boracay Rock. This is a usually crowded tourist spot.

To the right of Discovery is the cross on the cliff.

If you can grab a bed and enjoy the beautiful sunset after a day of playing !

Or enjoy some sunset cocktails!

We always try to rinse well after our time in the beach so we don’t erode the precious Boracay sand! Never bring sand with you as this is one of the causes of sand erosion which endangers are beloved beaches!

Up next I will be writing about the Food in Discovery Shores Boracay!

I always check Deal Grocer and other online booking platforms for their rates. Then I get in touch directly with Discovery so they can match it or give an even lower rate. If you have a PWD or Senior Citizens ID, there is a 20% discount and I have to confirm with TD but I think it’s also VAT free for the hotel & restaurants.
