Because of the pandemic, it’s not safe to hold garage sales, so many of you might prefer to post your stuff for sale online. Here are the different options and what I think of them!
Whenever posting to Facebook groups make sure to read the rules first before posting so you don’t get kicked out!
DECLUTTER MNL

DeclutterMNL is a group that I formed after I was kicked out of the expat groups because I was professionally helping expats hold garage sales. It was a gray area for the expat groups but I definitely was a quality seller, selling only genuine, quality items at half the original price max.
So I put up my own group & make sure only to accept good quality sellers who follow a required format & post only bright color balanced photos with white backgrounds. We also have rules in place to make buying and selling easy and not stressful for the members.
When posting or buying from Facebook groups, make sure to do so with high quality groups to reduce the chances of getting scammed.
Right now I’m taking a sabbatical from admin duties & it is kept alive by my co-admin Ging who is super amazing at organizing & has so many clever tips & tricks that she shares on her IG! I recommend you follow her!
We allow people to post almost everything they are decluttering here provided they are legal & follow FB rules – i.e. no milk, fake goods, medical items. Business posts are not allowed, unless they are related to decluttering (i.e. organizers & thoughtfully designed items) & the the brand/company is something we personally love and use.
POSTS MUST STRICTLY ADHERE TO THE REQUIRED TEXT FORMAT & PHOTO REQUIREMENTS.
OTHER RECOMMENDED FACEBOOK GROUPS
There are a lot of Facebook Groups, but these are where I post my items, other than DeclutterMNL:
WARDROBE WAREHOUSE clothing, bags & accessories
MANILA CLOTHING shoes & clothes
SOLE SANCTUM shoes
KIDS CLOSET CLEANUP baby, kid & pregnancy
MAKATI & MANILA MUMS & DADS child & parenting
MANILA FURNITURE AND COLLECTIBLES furniture, vintage & artwork
ATALIER MANILA designer items
It’s been really hard posting & selling stuff on FB, because of their updated rules, so before I post anything there I usually try to sell it on my IG stories first. I recommend this, especially for branded items because it will get flagged on FB.
CAROUSELL & SHOPEE
Another app you can try is Carousell which was purchased by OLX So now OLX is Carousell. Shopee is another app you can try. I personally have not had much success posting in both platforms so I cannot really say much about them.
CONSIGN LUXURY GOODS
There are so many places to consign your luxury bags & watches right now. A quick google of “preloved luxury manila” will show you. To see what’s nearest you, simply click on maps. But what I’ve personally tried & is very well established is BAGAHOLICS. You can only give desirable bags, they are quite picky. Before going to to their store in Arnaiz I recommend calling them first and asking if they are interested in your bag model.
Another one that seems to have a very good presence and well designed website is MOMMY MICAH.
I’M BAG HAPPY has a comprehensive list of places for preloved luxury.
Wardrobe Warehouse FB group admins also launched a FB Page that accepts consignment called S & C Luxuries Online Store.
AUCTION HOUSES

For paintings, antiques & some luxury goods including watches & household items, you can also approach the following auction houses:
You can email them photos of the items that you would like to sell and they will let you know if it’s something they can auction off & they can give you a free estimate.
However please remember that:
- They earn a commission from from what they sell
- Even if the item doesn’t sell, they charge a cost for cataloguing & storing the item
Use the various services with care & do your own research. This blog is not liable for any losses of goods & money incurred in using any of the services above.
images are from their brands/owners.
