Hello loves! Though we haven’t had time to go out, mingle and meet new people, I’ve met up with 2 old friends in Berlin. One of them is Deepa of the fabulous Currystrumpet blog, which I love because of her amazing photos and her hilarious humor and wit.
Deepa was in Berlin with her husband and beautiful baby T. I met up with them several times and it was a great way to discover shops in Berlin (COS, Muji, & Other Stories, etc.) that I wouldn’t have otherwise. I got to check out the Badeschiff and Nhow Hotel Berlin as well.

In Ku’damm: the Buddy Bear or Berlin Bear is a symbol of Berlin.

Got to see some crazy graffiti on our walk to the Badeschiff.
Who would have thought that there would be a pool/”beach” behind this?

Deepa made sure we were there on the warmest day of her trip. What a glorious 27 degree day it was!
THE BADESCHIFF
Entrance fee is 5 Euros.
One can also rent out lockers for valuables (This is a good idea if your entire group plans to swim at the same time). Somewhere there is also a baby changing station.
People come to sunbath and swim.
Check out baby Tala in her cute beach attire with bonnet. She even had a cute bikini but babies aren’t allowed to swim in the Badeschiff.
Bringing in food and drinks isn’t allowed but they have a good chicken wrap food stall. Berliner Beer is about 3 Euros + 1 Euro deposit for the glass, if I recall correctly.
TD followed after work and we enjoyed the beers! At this time our shipment from Jakarta has not arrived so thankfully I was able to buy a suit from H&M!

As we exited to go to their hotel, we noticed this cool installation.
And some squat bars by the river. I’d love to check it out sometime!
Walking to the Nhow Hotel…
THE NHOW HOTEL
How cool is the architecture of the hotel?

The interiors are kinda crazy i.e. Peptobismol pink rooms, but fits perfectly with it’s Music hotel image.
Saying nighty-night to Tala.

If you are so inclined, you can request the front desk to bring up an electric guitar to your room for use. How cool is that?
We had sunset drinks on the lovely terrace, with a great view of the river, the opposite side from Badeschiff.

Then dinner was at some hipster place that Deepa knew of. I can always count on her for the best recos!

Thanks for dragging me to the Badeschiff, Deepa. Super fun hanging out with you in Berlin. See you again in Berlin or Amsterdam!
This feels like it was so long ago! So fun to hang out with you again and to finally meet TD. Till our next Berlin (or Amsterdam?) meetup!
