YANGON: Lunch with a Panoramic City View

June 30, 2015

One unforgettable restaurant in Yangon was on the 20th floor of the Sakura Tower, called Thiripyitsaya Sky Bistro.

The food wasn’t great, an eclectic mix of cuisines, but we already knew we were coming for 1) the panoramic city view and 2) the ice cold beer!

You can see all the way to the Shwedagon Pagoda, Yangon’s iconic pagoda. It was nice to spend a relaxed lunch in a higher and cooler altitude from the hot, dusty streets below.

I can bet it’s beautiful to see the city lights come alive in the evenings here too, with a glass of ice cold local Myanmar beer. yangon-thiripyitsaya-sky-bistro-restaurant-004

It’s not the cheapest place, but might be worth it for a chillax downtime and free WIFI.

I think that’s cool. Great post! It’s on Cambodia, no? We’re living on an apartment in Belém, a city on Brasil. I’m traveling to KW (Key West), on Florida, a USA state. And now I’m with a problem: my KBD (Kintamani Bali Dog), Bali, is with a nasty allergy. She’s only a 10-months-old puppy. We don’t have idea of what’s can be causing it. It’s a nasty situation 🙁 your dog had any allergy once? If yes, how was it and what was causing it.

Hi Rosey, this is in Yangon. Yes he had allergies to wet dogfood in lamb so we have not fed him anything with lamb since then. The best thing really is to bring your dog to the vet for a professional opinion. Good luck and I hope your dog feels better soon.

What was the country (except USA) who you most liked? Why? What do you recommend to do in this country?

Hi Rosy, it depends on whether it’s to live in or just to relax or for tourism. So far my favorite places for vacation, lounging and eating, are Cote d’ Azur in France and many of our Philippine beaches. To live in, my favorite is Berlin. Everything is so organized and disciplined. I’m a very OC person so it fits my personality. How about you?

Hi! I have one female KBD (Kintamani Bali Dog), her name’s Bali. She’s my dog. And I’m your person. What do you feels about KBDs after your DiploDog was bitten by one?

Hi Rosy, I don’t think there is such a thing as a bad dog, only bad owners. So I think it was the fault of the owner and dog walker that their Kintamani bit my dog. They were not responsible and did not train their dog well.

Hi! I think that I’m bit late heheh but I’m answering you 😉 I would like to live in any paradisiacal place, such as French Polynesia, one day, maybe… I simply love my KBD (Kintamani Bali Dog), and I’m planning to found a kennel of PM (Pastor da Mantiqueira, or Mantiqueira’s Shepherd, in good Portuguese), a Brazilian indigenous dog breed who share so much similarities with Kintamani (these two breeds are from mountainous regions and aren’t officially recognized by none major kennel club, and they are also similar in physical appearance), so, I sometimes joke with my friends that Mantiqueira’s Shepherd is the Brazilian Kintamani 😀 hahaha and talking about places to live, I simply prefer the beach than the countryside, so, I plan move to a city who have beaches, because here on my state we don’t have beaches 🙁 but I would like to know Philippines and French Polynesia, or even move to one of these countries, one day, maybe… 🙂 what do you think about Philippines as a place to live?

The Philippines is a great place for expats to live. If you can find a good job or good business then the standard of living is quite high and labor is affordable i.e. household help and drivers. In my opinion you can find no better beaches in the world. It’s paradise. I keep on telling my husband that when we retire I just want a house by the beach. I hope your dreams come true!
