Yeelight 2-in-1 Mosquito Bug Zapper Racket& Trap Lamp

November 8, 2020

This was one of the most used items we brought during our recent trip to Tagaytay! I highly recommend bringing a bug zapper when traveling the tropics!

Living in the tropics, our beach and vacation pics are soooo beautiful and IG worthy but what we don’t see in those IG photos are all the yucky bugs – like flies and mosquitos – that come with the warm weather.

After going on a beach vacation where flies were a huge problem while eating, I vowed to bring a mosquito zapper next time we traveled. Never imagined to find one so smart and stylishly designed in WHITE! #whiteliving

With plans to go on vacation we bought this beautiful gadget from Digital Walker. I vowed to look for a better quality bug zapper after our cheap white bag zapper broke after a few uses.

To think we were very careful not to slam it or smack it. I felt so bad, but at least I know our building recycles. Otherwise it would have just gone into the landfill leaching toxic chemicals into out soil forever.

A friend of mine said they end up buying one every month coz it breaks so easily. Hoping this is going to be different considering the price point.

BUG ZAPPING RACKET

It’s rechargeable so you can use the paddle without a traditional battery. it’s a bit short but that makes it compact and easy to bring with you. We brought it with us when we dined out in Tagaytay and it was really helpful in killing the mosquitos that were trying to bite us and flies that were trying to get to our food.

Please note that for massive flies, it sometimes takes 2-3 zaps to really kill them.

MOSQUITO TRAP LAMP

I love that when it’s not in use I can insert it into the stand of the lamp. It’s just more sanitary than putting it on a table or chair where the dead bugs’ DNA can be left behind.

The lamp mode though only works at night or in dark areas. If you want to keep it on the whole night to attract insects, it’s best to keep it plugged in so it stays on. Otherwise, it only turns on when you cover the photosensitive resistor at the bottom.

To give you a better idea how it works, here is a video:

I have not tried to see if the lamp mode works when it’s not plugged in, but I’m just happy because this is more portable than those big bulky lamps we find in hardware stores.

The fact that it’s white is a dream come true! I love beautiful and smartly design products that give good value for our hard-earned cash! It’s no wonder this Xiaomi product won so many design awards!

Whenever you place the racket in the lamp always lock it in so it doesn’t accidentally fall when someone is carrying it.

It’s best to carry it with your finger looped into the rope on the handle. You can also hang it up from a secure hook using the same loop.

Though you can also find it on Lazada and other online platforms (see links above). I bought mine in Digital Walker because I know that if I have any problems with the product it’s easy to go to their store and ask for help or even a replacement if there is a factory defect.

This Xiaomi item is also available in Lazada SG and HipVan SG.
